As visitors to South Africa from UK, with a full agenda, we found ourselves with one free day to explore. Friends recommended Gems of Africa Safari . After contacting them, they were so very helpful in preparing for us, at short notice, a day out in the Cape Peninsula which turned out to be a voyage of discovery for us and for our excellent driver, Jason. He arrived promptly to pick us up from Goldeneye Private Venue in Somerset West and after a quick discussion about what we wanted to see we were on our way. For a long stretch were driven, in a mini bus, along the coast road banked with sand dunes to the left and some townships to the right. I had requested this to see where “the other half live.” Jason was informative, knowledgeable and interesting. I could write a book about the Day-out, but suffice to say that we all enjoyed the experience. The tour was good value for money which included lunch out. Highlights of the day included seeing the penguins at Boulders Beach, the Cape of Good Hope and the Cape point Lighthouse, accessed by the vernacular Railway. We were delivered home at the arranged time. Thanks to all who made it a day to remember.

Our driver Jason showed us the beauties of Cape Peninsular and explained them to us. It was a pleasure to be on the road with him. Most of the attractions were included in the tour package also a wonderful lunch nearby of Simon's Town. Many thanks to Jason and Gems of Africa.
