What To Expect

Visit the charming town of Guatapé and tour its reservoir where you can see the Peñol stone. The municipality of Guatapé is located 79 km. from the city of Medellin in eastern Antioqueño, tourist destination with its attractions: Peñón de Guatapé, stone mole with 220 m. High that to ascend it it requires to exceed more than 700 scales; Peñol Guatapé Reservoir, with 2.262 hectares of land flooded to give way to one of the most important hydroelectric in the country; taxed in the baseboards of the façades of the residences and other buildings representing traditions and colors.

El Penol is one of the stunning attractions near Medellin, Colombia. It is a huge attraction that has a small town under the enormous rock that is supposed to be 65 million years old. El penol, which is the name of the rock, has been revised and is now able to be climbed through built in stairs. Outside the attraction is the larger town of Guatape which has a huge array of shops, restaurants, and hotels apart from the antique infrastructure of the town.
