What To Expect
After being picked up at the agreed location, we will take a short ride to the first stop along the streets of Šibenik, where you can enjoy stunning views of the Šibenik landscape, overlooking the sea and the Šibenik Islands. After the pick-up, we will begin an easy ride along the beautiful streets of Šibenik, all the way to the Dražen Petrović Monument and playground. Dražen Petrović was the best Croatian basketball player and one of the most famous sports figures from Šibenik. Our driver will share a bit more about the glorious times when Dražen played for the local club and the national team.
Barone Fortress
The Barone Fortress (also known as Šubićevac Fortress; Croatian: Tvrđava Barone or Tvrđava Šubićevac) is a fortress constructed in 1646 on Vidakuša hill above the city. The fortress was revitalized and re-opened in January 2016. Like the renovated St. Michael's Fortress in 2014, Barone Fortress also won the national Cultural Attraction of the Year Award in 2016. It now offers its visitors a digital tour through Šibenik's past via an augmented reality platform and other multimedia features.

5.00Luka was an amazing tour guide, extremely knowledgeable on the local area. I would highly recommend this tour over the cruise tours, the tour company picked us up at the cruise ship drop off (Port Luka) and started our tour; I bet even the locals could learn something new from Luka our guide. Fun and exciting way to see many sights in a short time!

4.00Our tour guide, Luka, was friendly and knowledgeable. He met us at our location in the tuk tuk. We were the only people on the tour. Luka provided interesting information as we drove by various sites. We had somewhat of a hard time hearing him and we were sitting right behind him. I can’t imagine that if there were others sitting behind us in the tuk tuk that they would be able to hear a thing. We visited two fortresses - given time to walk through each without the guide. And then to the Winery Rak, which was fabulous. We tasted three very good wines and were given a very generous amount of breads, cheeses, olive oil, and prosciutto - all delicious but we couldn’t finish it. The owner was very gracious and provided interesting information about the wines, process, olive oil, etc. The wines were very good and we bought a white and a red. By this time, St Michael’s Fortress had closed (17:00), so Luka gave us our tickets to go the next day, which we did. We didn’t get to go in the Cathedral either, which I thought was included in the price. All in all, this is a great tour and an easy and fun way to get to each fortress. And the wine tasting really made it!
