The marvelous Pena Palace was built on one of the highest points of Sintra Mountain, offering stunning views. It represents the greatest example of 19th-century Romanticism in Portugal, with different influences from the Manueline and Moorish styles. You may wander through its lush gardens, which have more than five hundred tree species from all over the world. The famous composer Richard Strauss named this magnificent palace the "Castle of the Holy Grail."

5.00Our guide, Ishmael, was great. Ask for him. This is a great tour. Many people say Pena Castle is “touristy” and crowded - but if you are a tourist and have never been there it is very much going too. The coast and Cascais, are beautiful. We had an awesome time with a professional, friendly, knowledgeable guide. If you are not sure, I highly recommend. Also recommend you confirm your pick- up time if you did not book directly through Blue Diamond.

5.00We had a wonderful day with Ruben who was an excellent guide and driver with a wealth of knowledge about cultural traditions and history. He also gave us many recommendations for other trips and restaurants within Portugal as well as taking us to a great fish place for lunch. We would highly recommend this day tour.

5.00We had a fantastic day with Edgar, our driver, who showed us the sights and sounds of Sintra, the Peña Palace and the beautiful coast of Portugal between Sintra & Lisbon. He is an excellent driver who always showed a high level of care and patience while we were on the tour. His English is excellent, and he had a very good knowledge of the various sights and history of Sintra and Lisbon. His recommendation for lunch was outstanding. He secured us a fantastic table, right by the window, with sweeping views of the coast back towards Cabo da Roca, the most western point of Europe. The food was a treat with my wife enjoying Veal with mushrooms while I tucked into fresh sole, cooked in butter. Delicious. I can highly recommend this tour and Edgar, our driver.
