Discover the truth behind all the myths and legends with the author of a biography about this fascinating and polarizing woman. Renate takes a look behind the scenes with you: beauty and loneliness, passions and illnesses, romantic longings, and tragic blows of fate. But there is also talk of how long and heavy her hair was, what her wedding dress might have looked like, how long her daily bath lasted, what her body measurements were, and how she rebelled against strict court etiquette. If there is time and interest, we can also make a comparison with Princess Diana's life.

Our guide Stephan provided an entertaining and historical overview of the old town area. Great way to start your trip to help with planning if you are new to Vienna.

It is likely a better experience for someone who have zero information about the city and in general European / Austrian history. The guide, Anita obviously tried to make her best but for me the style and the information was just not so catchy ( I have been on many free walks around the world during my travels). It was a hot Austrian summer day , so it was not helping either that the walk did cover only a relatively tiny part of the inner city but was longer than advertised (what might be a good point under other circumstances). There were 20 plus people what is not so easily manageable when you are supposed to keep at least some distance (did not happen). For me , listening the guide speaking English was not easy (and usually it is not a problem).

  • Nice informative tour.

We enjoyed the tour and the explanations of Oksana. Her English spoken is very understandable for non-native English people. We only regret the accent she puts to be paid at the end of the tour, telling how much guided tours costs, and what she expects to get. It felt like a 'Not so free'-tour.

Ricco was the best tourguide I could have asked for. His knowledge compared with his sense of humor made the tour interesting and not boring at all!!! 10:01

Having done numerous walking tours around Europe, this one was my favorite. Unfortunately I cannot remember the guides name (a Russian Lady who had lived in Austria for 28 years), but she was absolutely brilliant. Incredibly knowledgeable about the city - both it’s culture and history. She was humorous and light hearted and welcomed questions from the group, all of which she was able to answer in detail. An absolutely wonderful couple of hours, thank you.

The tour was fine to place you in the city, although it lacked something that in other tours I have experienced that tourist-guide connection.

We were guided by Florian and had an amazing time. A tour with information and news, memory and respect. Besides his characteristic sympathy. We loved it! Thank you!

We did the english free walking tour with Jan. It was really good! We learned a lot about Vienna in just two hours, thanks to Jan. A very knowledgeable guide who spoke with a lot of passion and had an answer for all the questions.
