Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park is the oldest proclaimed game reserve in Africa. This 96000 hectare Park is home to the African Big 5, Wild Dogs, Cheetah and much more.

All of our rangers have numerous years of experience in their respective fields and will undoubtedly ensure that you have a marvelous day out on your Full-Day Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park Safari. We have 23 years of experience in the tourism industry and we would be delighted to host you on this magnificent safari.

What To Expect

Hluhluwe - iMfolozi Park Wilderness Area

Your game ranger for the day will pick you up at your accommodation at 05:00 am in St Lucia. You will then be transferred to the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park, Nyalazi Gate (the southern section of the Park). All clients meeting us at the Nyalazi Gate please if you would be their by 06:00 am. Once everyone is onboard your ranger will offer you an introduction to the Park, let you know regarding the area or destination for the day and you are off on a magnificent day's wildlife safari. The Park is home to the African Big 5, Cheetah, Wild Dogs and much more. Sit back and enjoy as the Bush comes alive. Early morning departures are more productive as this is when the predators are more active enhancing your chances of seeing them. The full-day Big 5 safari includes Breakfast, Bush Lunch, and Refreshments.

We had a great day, saw lots of magnificent animals! It was our first safari and found it amazing! The open jeep was safe and really brilliant. During the booking process Nele Jiyane was always very helpful and acommodated our needs. During the tour, our guide Siyabonga was friendly and very knowledgebable, and made a great effort chasing sightings. Thank you both! One thing that could be improved is the Centennary Craft Shop: it's beautiful, but unfortunately, it's located inside the park and we wanted to use precious morning time seeing animals. If it had been at the exit, we would have bought multiple things to take back.

We had a super fun day with Fred. A good breakfast, yogurt with granola and fruit, biscuit and coffee or tea. Fred explains a lot about the animals and plants. It was a bit cold that day with unfortunately rain but there are warm blankets, ponchos and not to mention binoculars. The braai was delicious, a big steak and a piece of sausage and bowls with salad. For us a very successful day Because we had reserved se safari for six, lots of space and each a place on the outside.

We (family with 3 kids, 19, 17 and 12 years) participated in the Six On Safari to the Hluhluwe–Imfolozi Game Reserve and were absolutely thrilled! Our guide was incredibly competent, friendly and humorous – he knew every animal and knew how to tell exciting stories about the wildlife’s behaviour and lifestyle. Shortly after take-off, we were able to observe elephants, rhinos, giraffes, zebras and many antelopes – sometimes at impressive close range. We especially loved the fact that our guide always knew exactly where to stop to take the best photos, while at the same time paying attention to the safety and tranquility of the animals. At the end of the safari we were rewarded with an entire elephant family! Breakfast and lunch were very delicious, everything was perfectly organized. Overall, it was an unforgettable day that we can recommend to anyone. We would do the tour again immediately!

We had a perfect day! We started chasing wild dogs, found rhino's, met "dancing" girafs, were confused by zebra dazzles, observed a calling cheeta (!) and watched the most beautiful birds. Carl our guide was great, very enthousiastic and told us all we wanted to know. The only downside was that ,even after a much longer tour, finally the day had to come to an end. The game reserve is amazing and really worth a visit!

We had a great day with our guide Kyle. He knows how to spot the animals perfectly, gives very good explanations. In the afternoon we had a very nice lunch, and we even paddled our feet in the Indian Ocean. Super guide!

Wow – what an amazing experience! Our Six on Safari trip with Heritage Tours & Safaris was everything we hoped for and more. It was relaxing, fun, and a great break from everyday life. Our guide was full of knowledge and made the whole trip even more interesting. We always seem to spot cheetahs when we're with Heritage, we feel so lucky! The food was great, and I especially loved the traditional South African Braai. One thing I really appreciate is how the guides always go the extra mile to make sure everyone has a good time. Thank you to the whole team,you made it an unforgettable trip! 10/10 would definitely recommend.

I've done the Six on Safari tour more than once, and I highly recommend it every time. Our guide, Jabu, was incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely passionate about tracking wildlife, he went above and beyond to make sure we had amazing sightings. The breakfast was excellent, and lunch was even better, the traditional braai added such an authentic and memorable touch to the whole experience. It’s absolutely worth the early wake-up call. With only six people in the vehicle and our own binoculars, we had front-row seats to the best of the bush. An unforgettable experience all around!
