Sung in many songs, shown in dozens of films, told in countless stories, Shutka in Skopje is unique. In Europe live 12 million Roma – the continent’s largest minority –some 10.000 are in Skopje. The streets in Shutka named after Walt Disney, Che Guevara, and Garcia Lorca are bustling. At the center is a sprawling bazaar where vendors hawk tracksuits, sneakers, and home goods, mostly imported from Turkey and China. The municipality is the only local administrative unit in the world to have adopted Romani as an official language. There are Roma members of the parliament and high-level officials serving in the government.

Skopje Aqueduct

A very interesting archaeological site. It is considered that it dates back to the time of the ancient period of the Roman Empire or the medieval period of the Empire, in the time of the Emperor Justinian I, from 527 – 554. That is why it is called Justinians Aqueduct.
