It was absolutely phenomenal. Our tour guide, Derek, was very knowledgeable, friendly and funny. The tour is a must-do. It was more than anything I had imagined.

It was a long day filled with a wide range of activities and experiences. It is a great primer for the Big Island so that one could decide later what else to explore or explore in greater detail. Our guide Felix kept us informed of other sites and activities along the way not on the trip to help with planning for other activities during out vacation. He was especially good at Volcanoes National Park taking us to many interesting spots to show different kinds lava flow features, the main caldera of Kileaua as well as now dormant fissures and volcanoes.

Derek is a great guide, I absolutely enjoyed the entire day tour. It was a very long day but it was well worth it, they provide lunch and dinner which was really nice because I didn’t have to worry about food at all. The day I went the volcano was erupting so my entire group was in awe. It’s a nice small group so it doesn’t get too crowded and I could talk to everyone. Everyone was very friendly and enjoyed just as much! The national park was crowded but Derek knew some isolated spots where we got a great view of the volcano from after dark.

Dreu was awesome! Time flew by and was just long enough to see everything. He was entertaining the whole way and had more costume changes than a Taylor Swift concert.

Felix was fantastic, taking us to out of the way places that most tours don't go to. The stargazing was fantastic as we had a clear night.

The tour guide Dreu was the best. Very knowledgeable friendly and personable. The tour of the Volcano National Park was probably the best excursion I have ever been on. The experience way exceeded my expectations. From the Black sand beach to Kiliuea volcano to the star gazing on Mauna Kea all amazing.

Todd was wonderful, a more intelligent & funny voice of Derry Murbles from Pawnee Public Radio (Parks&Rec). When booking this tour please be aware you won’t get back to your hotel until after 11pm, but 10am to 11pm will be packed with activities and great food.

We would only give this tour one star if it hadn't been for the saving grace of the volcano. First, they missed our stop and after waiting a half hour past our pick up time we called and were told it would be another half an hour before they could send a car to pick us up.bit took forty minutes. The office person that came to pick us up was friendly enough but when she got there she told us that we had to make a stop to pick up our lunches, which the van driver had also failed to get. When we finally caught up to the group, they had already been at the coffee farm for half an hour and so we didn't get to participate in that experience. The next stop was the black sand beach and we were supposed to go to the bakery but the driver decided to skip that in order to get us to the park to see the volcano, which was actively erupting. When we got to the volcano, that experience was it's saving grace the views were spectacular and we were able to get a ton of high quality photos. The driver knew right where to take us for the best views. That was great, but we still hadn't eaten anything and it was after 2:00. At this point the guide took us to a secluded parking lot away from the crowds to eat, but there were no benches to sit at, the food was cold because it had been 4 hours since it had been picked up and they didnt have food for people that had put in for a vegetarian order. After we ate our cold lunch, we made a quick stop at the lava tube which was a scheduled part of the tour and then we went to another spot for a different perspective on the Crater. That was awesome as well. The driver then took us to our dinner spot, just a couple hours removed from when we had our cold lunch but that was a welcome stop for the people that didn't get any food. Once we finished dinner, we went back into the park to get some night time views of the volcano which was even more spectacular than the day time views however we only got a few minutes for photos before we were rushed out to leave to get to our final stop of the night which was a two hour drive away. The star gazing turned out to be meh but you can't blame the tour for that as it was a near full moon which washed out what would have otherwise been an awesome night sky. At the end of the day, we will give it 3 stars for the volcano experience alone. We got lucky and arrived during a full large scale eruption. It would have been much worse if there wasn't an active eruption happening.

Aaron picked us up on time and our adventure began. Aaron was highly informative and really did an outstanding job explaining everything. I loved the fact that he included a lot of Hawaiian history and used the Hawaiian names for many of the things we observed.
