Traveling by private car and on foot this tour explores a number of the evening street food markets around Chiang Mai city, Thailand trying out some northern Thai delicacies and learning how to order food in Thai. All food, drinking water and transport to and from accommodation is provided in the price.

What To Expect
The tour starts when our local tour guide pick you up at your Chiang Mai accommodation in the early evening, the exact of which will be communicated to you. Once the group, maximum 8 people, is together we start our exploration of Chiang Mai's famous street food markets, learning the secrets of what makes Thailand's street food so famous. Practice ordering your dishes in Thai, with the help of our leaflet detailing the most popular street food dishes. This tour visits at least two evening markets, and you'll get to try at least 8 different dishes including Kannom Jin (Chinese noodles), northern Thai delicacies, stewed pork leg, coconut dumplings, a mix of savoury and sweet. Please ensure you come along hungry. Once you have had your fill, we will drop you off again at your accommodation at approximately 9:30 -10pm. Please note there may be an additional surcharge to provide transportation from outside Chiang Mai city, and the tour lasts between 2.5 – 3 hours depending on the size of the group.

5.00We decided on this tour as we only had a few days in Chiang Mai and were so glad we did . There were 5 in our group and our guide Jay collected us and drove us to the night street food markets. We visited several locations . All were scrupulously clean , offering a wide variety of local dishes.Jay came well prepared with a folder of information for each participant giving detailed info on the ingredients in many traditional Malaysian dishes . A highlight was when he encouraged us to order a dish for ourselves , supplying the relevant vocabulary . The food was tasty and varied . Jay advised on dishes for anyone who prefers less spice . We finished by drinking to each others’ health with a shot glass of Malaysian whisky . Jay is excellent company and he quickly got tour group , from different countries , to bind together . Take this tour - you won’t regret it !

5.00Jay did an excellent job guiding us through various street food markets. We tried multiple dishes that were all delicious. He also provided us with a handout containing key phrases and dishes that we could use during the tour but also on other days. So thoughtful and handy!

5.00We absolutely loved this tour! Our guide Mr Goal was prompt on pickup and gave us and our new companions a night to remember. We tried a lot of dishes, maybe 30+, but what was nice is that you could eat as little or as much as you wanted. We learnt a lot about the local food markets and our guide made sure we were all happy and well fed and educated with a sense of humour too. Highly recommend

5.00We started the night trying food at a restaurant and our guide, Goal, taught us about the various regions of Thailand and how countries surrounding Thailand impacted the food styles. Then he took us around town to try street food and sample a huge variety of food. You won’t leave this tour hungry!!

5.00Really interesting food tour of Chiang Mai in the back of a local Song thrown (red pick-up taxi). Goal was an excellent guide taking us first to a local restaurant where a vast array of delicouos Northern food was laid out and then to a couple of night markets where we tried a variety of dishes from across Thailand. I lost track of the number of dishes we tried - Goal kept tempting us with another snack which was irresistible and we ended with a shot of the local fire water which to be honest was probably better resisted! A great introduction to real thai food and best done early in your trip
