Starting Jan 1st, 2026, the tour supplier is required by law to confirm US or Non-US citizenship which will determine if an additional entry fee is required. For non-US citizens, the tour supplier must collect an additional $100 per person, payable in advance to the tour supplier.
There is NOT a restroom on the van. Comfort stops are made throughout the day.
Minimum numbers apply. There is a possibility of cancellation after confirmation if there is not enough passengers to meet requirements. In the event of this occurring, you will be offered an alternative or full refund
Arizona state law requires children under 8 years to have either a child seat or booster. Child seats are not provided, please bring your own and notify supplier
Minimum age is 3 years and guest must inform supplier they will provide car seats or boosters.
Wheelchairs and walkers are acceptable as long as they fold up and can be slid into the vehicle. You must let the supplier know if you are bringing either.
We do not guarantee pickup for all hotels. Even if your hotel is on the list, there may be a chance you'll need to meet at an alternate location. Any guest staying outside of Phoenix, Scottsdale or Tempe will be required to meet at an alternate location to be determined by supplier. Tour supplier contact details will be provided on your pre-paid voucher.
Supplier is not responsible for road or viewing conditions due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.
You must let the supplier know if there are any mobility concerns that they should be aware of.
FOR LAST MINUTE BOOKINGS: Any tours booked after 7:00PM Arizona time the night before the tour date might not be confirmed. You will likely have to meet at another hotel for pick up. Our office will contact you prior to 6:00am on the tour date.
The Grand Canyon South Rim is a 7,000 foot elevation, please note this if you have concerns about elevation.

What To Expect
Grand Canyon South Rim
Enjoy approximately 3 hours inside Grand Canyon National Park! Part of your time is guided and part of your time is on your own. Stroll the rim for endless viewpoints and gaze upon the deepest and widest part of the entire Grand Canyon! The drive to Grand Canyon from the Phoenix area is roughly 4 hours with a few comfort stops along the way.

5.00Our guide, Mark H was excellent. He was knowledgeable about the area and called everyone by name. Mark knew the best spots for excellent photos. Kept us in schedule. The historical information Mark added was great. Wonderful tour!!! Contrary to what the company told us, they do not pick up down town Phoenix.

5.00This is such a great way to get your “feet wet” experiencing the Grand Canyon! The shuttle was very comfortable which is key because you are in it for many hours getting to and from the Grand Canyon! Our tour guide, Aldo, made the ride enjoyable with his knowledge of the region and stops along the way. The Grand Canyon views were incredible, even with the cloudy and somewhat rainy day. Aldo did an excellent job of giving tips and suggestions for planning a multi day trip to the Grand Canyon. It was breathtaking to see and keeps you wanting more! Seeing the Canyon has been a bucket list to do for my mom and this was a great way to do it with her!
Happy to have visited the Canyon on a less than perfect weather day.

5.00Yesterday, I had the pleasure of taking the Grand Canyon day trip with 7 other travelers, 2 couples and 3 other single visitors. The weather did not cooperate very well with the first snowy day of the season through Flagstaff, and a foggy, rainy, and cloudy day at the Canyon. Our Guide Mark H. did everything he could to find a location from the South Rim where we could view the magnificence of mother nature. I hiked with another traveler and we were able to walk a portion of the bright angel trail lower than the rim, where the Canyon was visible. On our last stop of the day at the Canyon at Yavapi Point, there was a break in the clouds and the other travelers saw the Canyon at a spot where we could view a part of the river below. The drive to Sedona through Oak Creek Canyon and rushing waters along the drive due to the rain was memorable and the sun brightened the end of our showing all of the Red Rock views around Sedona. Mark's play list on our way back to Phoenix was the perfect ending to an informational and my first visit to the Canyon. It won't be my last with Detours American West.

5.00Mark was an excellent guide. He Provided great commentary as well as engaging interaction with each person on the tour bus. I was able to walk about 2 miles along the South Rim trail down towards the village area where we had some lunch at the Fountain store and enjoyed the Grand Canyon views for around 3 hours. Then we headed to uptown Sedona via Oak Creek to look at the red rocks and take some final pictures for the day. It was a great experience. Highly recommended.

5.00A friend & I had a great time taking the tour to see the Grand Canyon! We also got upgraded to stop at Sedona! Nathan was a great tour guide! Having grown up around there, he knew a lot about the areas, the places to see, the places to shop, etc. He also knows about various Native Americans. Nathan provided interesting info about a variety of things and made it entertaining too! He made stops every hour, or two, for food, or pit stops. Nathan also told us about a discount that Detours of Arizona offers through Maverick Helicopter Tours for a 45-minute flight over the Grand Canyon! My friend & I decided to take the helicopter ride! It was well worth it to see a LOT more of the Grand Canyon! It was my first time in a helicopter and it was great! I highly recommend using Detours of Arizona! Thank you Nathan and everyone I spoke to beforehand when I had questions!

5.00This excursion was magnificent! LOTS of history was provided throughout the tour. We were able to walk the south rim which provided magnificent views of the Canyon. We drove Oak Creek Canyon to take in the fall colors. Our stop in Sedona allowed us to browse and shop for a bit. The last stop of the day providing us an opportunity to get pictures of Bell rock and Courthouse rock. Mark H was an excellent guide with so much information and historical stories. It was a FABULOUS day!!

5.00My trip to the Grand Canyon with Hyun was such a great experience! Everything was smooth and comfortable from start to finish and I did not have to worry about a thing. The views were absolutely breathtaking and pictures really do not do it justice. It was one of those experiences I will never forget and I am so glad I got to do it this way. Highly recommend!
