We love the ocean and treat her with respect. We will not serve you on single use plastics nor will we practice any unsustainable fishing practice. We try and buy local produce when we can and support our community via our contributions of time and money to local charities.
Because our yacht is a mono hull, our guests experience the adventure of actually sailing. The waters in our area, Potrero Bay, are unique in that they offer flat calm waters, consistent breeze and breathtaking anchoragtes.

What To Expect
Playa Flamingo
We love to sail and fortunately we live in a great bay to do that! So, we will sail and you will have our crew serving you up some great drinks and lovely music. You can fish and/or snorkel if you would like. You can swim to a beach or you can just hang out on Serendipity. When you sail with us, you are chartering your own private yacht. Our lovely 50 Beneteau Oceanis was featured on the cover of Sail Magazine and has 4 bedrooms, 4 bathroom and plenty of areas to lounge both above and below deck. Our crew is one the most experienced and professional in our area, striving for customer service and always aware that safety is our first priority. We will sail up the coast and our Captain will assess the best place to anchor for that day. Guest will have the chance to snorkel, swim and visit a remote beach. We provide quality appetizers, a delicious healthy lunch of fresh chicken tacos (veggie and gluten free available) and an open bar with premium alcohol. We also have all the equipment of board for snorkeling and fishing.

5.00We had a great time on and off the boat. Free drinks, snack, and lunch were provided on the boat along with comfy sitting areas. Off the boat one of the crew members snorkeled with us for almost an hour and lead us to some cool sea creatures. It was a great time sailing and snorkeling!

5.00We took the morning cruise on Jan 31. It completely exceeded my expectations. It is a small boat with a maximum of 13 passengers. The crew is terrific - friendly and safety conscious. The tacos for lunch were terrific and they had a full bar. The best part is that they actually sailed, not just motored. Plus, they depart from the Maria which makes boarding very easy. The week before, we took other visitors on one of the large catamarans out of Playa Tamarindo. There were at least 70 guests and the sails were never raised. Plus, you have to board by getting in a small boat at the beach and transferring to the catamaran anchored further out. It was not easy for anyone with mobility issues. Highly recommend serendipity!!

5.00This was my third trip on Serendipity. I love this sailing trip! The cocktails are flowing and the lunch is usually chicken or fish tacos prepared to perfection. They are kind and vested in their clients creating lasting memories!

5.00This was an absolute wonderful experience. Both The Captain and his assistant were excellent. We all felt safe and taken care of. The boat was clean and the lunch was delicious. The beach they took us to was more than I could have hoped for. Our whole family appreciated the noodles. We can all swim but having a noodle allowed us to relax. The life vest for the youngest in our group was perfect. Serendipity facilitated us having an incredible day together with family, friends, and nature.

5.00Our multi-generational family of 16 had an incredibly memorable morning charter with Serendipity Charters earlier this month. We were blown away by the friendliness of the staff, who genuinely seemed to enjoy their jobs and went out of their way to ensure that everyone (ages 6mos-65 years) was having a wonderful time. The boat was comfortable and well-equipped, food and drink were excellent, and our time out on the ocean was so peaceful. Special shoutout to Camille, who was fabulously helpful in planning for our charter!
If you want to SAIL... take the sloop. Treated like royalty.

5.00Wow. What a great experience. Bismark and his crew too such good care of us. We went out with our extended family. 7 adults and 7 children. The treated us like royalty. The sailing was wonderful, the cove we anchored in was quaint and had fun swimming and snorkeling. Lunch was fabulous and the drinks were...... copious. If you want to SAIL...... take the sloop, skip the catamarans. Highly recommended.

5.00I cannot recommend Serendipity highly enough!! It was a fabulous day! Six of us booked the all day private charter. Jonathan was our captain and Gerald was his mate. We loved them. They anticipated our every need and were so gracious, fun, and friendly! The sailboat was a 50 ft well-appointed monohull. The food and drink were wonderful and the snorkeling was great as well. I will be back!

5.00Great morning sail with Bismark and Jeffrey! The boat was perfect for group of 8 and the two of them did a wonderful job of making us feel right at home throughout the excursion. We were fortunate to see humpback whales on our sail out to a well protected cove where we were then able to snorkel and enjoy the warm waters and abundance of fish. They served us delicious snacks and lunch and plenty of refreshments. On our return sail, a porpoise surfaced along side of us. The boat is a true sailboat and Bismarck and Jeffrey were a great crew; friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. It was a great highlight in our week of Pura Vida!

5.00Serendipity and our crew, Jonathan and Matteo, were excellent! We had an awesome time sailing and snorkeling. Fantastic lunch and margaritas! The snorkeling was great! The guided snorkeling tour was fantastic. We saw a wide variety of sea life and the crew was very accommodating to our group of 4 adults and 2 10-year olds. Highly recommend!
