What To Expect
Enjoy a 25-minute boat trip to the beautiful Daymaniyat Islands, “ Nature Reserve”. The Islands are a sanctuary for birds and turtles to nest their eggs. Virtually everyone who comes here does so to dive. There are nine low, rocky little islets here, strung out in a line from east to west and clustered in three quite widely separated groups, surrounded by coral reefs. The islands have been protected as a nature reserve since 1996 and provide an important nesting site for hawksbill and green turtles, as well as a wide range of migratory birds including the increasingly rare sooty falcon, one of the few migratory raptors which actually nests and breeds in the region. 3.00The trip could be better organized. Firstly, the meeting point is not clear- we were wandering around Seeb marina when we saw someone in a Global Scuba vehicle by luck. Second, it was pretty chaotic as the boat operators had clearly overbooked and were trying to juggle clients between different boats. It seems that all of these companies are basically the same and they simply distribute passengers between each others boats (so just booked the cheapest one!). Third, they did not have children's snorkeling gear even though we had booked kids tickets. They also did not try very hard to fit gear for everyone (you have to be proactive). Fourth, we only stopped at one spot for snorkeling while the second stop at the island was basically a do-what-you-like (sunbathe, swim, hike). Some of the operators were BBQ'ing but it was unclear whether it was just for them or the clients too. For the positives: the snacks on the boat (sandwiches, drinks, chips, bananas) were adequate, and the boat crew were friendly and even helped out in the water. I would probably look at booking a private tour in the future.

5.00We travelled with Captain Happy and had a brilliant time despite not the best weather. We saw many turtles and exciting fish. The snacks and drinks were most adequate and everything was extremely well organised.

4.00It is an activity with a lot of tourists and many boats, so like a mass event. The islands are not green and not nice. It is possible to snorkel with many colourful fishes, also turtles and even an octopus. The 2nd stop at a small beach is not interesting, because the sand beach is small, walking on stones on the island not pleasant and too many people and boats there. But the boat ride is nice, food ok and the 1st snorkeling interesting.

5.00We had a great trip today with Captain B. He knows his stuff and knew exactly where to find the turtles ( which were incredible). He made sure we all had good quality equipment and plenty of snacks and drinks. He ended the trip by taking us to a paradise beach. A truly enjoyable trip that I am so glad we decided to do. One of our Oman highlights

5.00Was absolutely amazing! Me and my partner have never done snorkelling before or been in the ocean so it was our first time and Captain Hassan was helpful and supportive. We only saw around a few turtles though compared to other videos which showed people seeing many more

5.00Great half day of snorkelling. The whole trip was about four hours from leaving Seeb Harbour. 30 minute fast speedboat ride to 1st snorkelling point, snorkelling from the boat. We saw lots of turtles, coral and fish, sea was warm and calm, good visibility. .Next stop was to an island nearby where you could walk to the beach from the boat and either sit, swim, snorkel or walk. We then got back to Harbour at 5:30 as the Sun was setting. There were plenty of drinks and snacks on the boat and Captain Happy Flower was excellent.
