Our Snorkeling with Sea Lions tour is the best way to get up close with some of Latin America’s most striking wildlife.

You can experience this adventure and snorkel to observe sea lions in the amazing environment of the Natural Protected Area of Punta Loma, Puerto Madryn, in the Argentinian Patagonia.

In addition, you will enjoy a 25-minute boat ride of bird sightseeing and viewing of other sea mammals.

A wetsuit will be given to you for the activity. If you wish to have a drysuit, please advise your guide at the beginning of the tour, a supplement will be charged.

Children must be at least 6 years old to be able to participate.

A minimum of 2 people per booking is required.

Maximum age is 65 due to age restrictions on the operator's insurance

What To Expect

Our snorkeling with sea lions tour is an utterly unmissable part of any trip to Puerto Madryn. This activity is only possible in three places in the world, however the proximity of the sea lions to the coast makes it particularly memorable in Puerto Madryn. The sea lions bob around in the water as they wait for us to hop in, the whole experience making for an unforgettable trip. The tour starts in Puerto Madryn where you will receive your equipment to snorkel. Once equipped, follow your guide and board a boat to reach the Punta Loma Provincial Reserve. We will be sailing past a collection of beaches, cliffs, shipwrecks and we may observe whales or dolphins regarding the season. When we arrive at the reserve, our professional guide will explain us what we’re going to do: how to snorkel, our kit and its floatability, any important do’s and don’ts within the reserve. You will be able to move in the water to observe sea lions in their natural environment during approximately 50 minutes. A light wetsuit, mask and snorkel will be of use to watch these nice members of the Patagonian sea fauna. Back to the boat, hot tea and snacks will be offered become going back the city.

An amazing experience! The whole crew took amazing care of everyone. Lots of information was given about the area and the sea-life. The boat ride was beautiful and scenic. I was afraid we would be cold but the wet suits were great. We had breathtaking views of large colonies of sea lions. Once in a lifetime experience!

This was a great experience and the crew at Abramar Buceo were attentive and fun. We have some great photos provided by the diving crew. They were knowlegeable about the sea lions and sea birds. The equipment and wet suits fit well and kept us warm. Would definitely recommend this tour.

It’s a smallish boat which means a really nice small group. The guides are amazing, so knowledgeable, helpful and FUN. The excursion itself is extraordinary. To be in the water so close to these amazing animals was beyond words. It was just so beatiful and amazing. I’m so grateful our trip guides took pictures and video because friends at home just wouldn’t believe it! It’s one thing to be an observer from land and a totally different thing to be there, in the water, a part of this incredible natural environment that is so full of life. It was also a fantastic bonding experience with my husband, two teenage daughters, and my mother. I can’t say enough about this experience and the people who lead it. The BEST!!!

Totally EPIC. We went with our kids (ages 12, 11, 9, 7, and 2). The entire family had a spectacular time. We saw so much wildlife, and some of us got to actually pet sea lions. Magical.
