Join us on an amazing Snowmobile Adventure that will lead us from Tromsø all the way to Finnish Lapland.
Flexible and Scenic Routes – While the 3-Country Border is a standard highlight, the route may change based on weather, snow conditions, and safety considerations. Alternative routes can be just as rewarding.

Guided and Responsible Adventure – The tour is guided, and drivers must follow rules for safety. Drivers are responsible for any damages to the snowmobiles.

You can participate in the Snowmobile Adventure and our Northern Lights Chases on the same day.
Minimum age for this trip is 8 years for the passenger and 18 years for the driver.
No car driving license required to participate in the trip.
Please dress warm. A woollen base layer and at least one pair of woollen socks are a must.
It takes about 2.5 hours in our comfortable bus to reach our destination in Finland.
This trip requires a minimum of 8 participants. In the rare event that we have less than 8 sign-ups, the trip will be cancelled and a full refund provided.
We may cancel this trip any time for safety reasons. In this case, a full refund will be provided.
All participants must follow the rules discussed in the safety briefing. Participants that endanger themselves or others in any way, will be excluded from the tour without the possibility of a refund.
This trip starts early. There will be no refunds if you are not at the pick-up location at the agreed time.
The snowmobiles are insured with a liability of up to 1,000 EUR. That means, the driver of the snowmobile will have to pay up to 1,000 EUR on the spot to cover damages caused by the driver. Following the rules set by the tour guides will greatly reduce the risk of damages.
Sharing of snowmobiles are only for guests traveling with someone they can share with. If you're a solo traveler, please choose "Ride Your Own Snowmobile" option when you book.
The minimum height requirement is 140 cm.

For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.
What To Expect
Our adventure takes us to the picturesque village of Kilpisjärvi, Lapland. After a two-hour scenic drive from Tromsø, we’ll arrive in Kilpisjärvi and gear up with warm, protective clothing. Following a safety briefing, you’ll hop on a snowmobile and begin exploring this wintry wonderland. While the 3-Country Border is a highlight, the route may change based on weather, snow conditions, and safety. We may also explore scenic spots like Saana Mountain, frozen lakes, or wilderness huts. This adventure emphasizes the beauty of Finnish Lapland’s landscapes over speed, with terrain ranging from flat frozen lakes to rugged trails. Along the way, we’ll pause to enjoy the scenery, take photos, and — for those sharing — switch drivers. Lapland’s weather adds to the adventure. Conditions can be challenging, so dressing warmly is essential. The tour is guided, and drivers must follow safety rules and are responsible for any damages to the snowmobiles. 5.00The weather, the snow, the path we rode on were amazing and clear, and so were the photos our excellent Australian tour guide Bailey took of us! Bailey’s instructions on snow mobiling were super easy to follow. He had an excellent ability to unite the entire group and keep the spirit high from start to finish. It’s safe to say his energetic personality and genuine interest towards the Arctic and its visitors made the tour even more fun! :)

5.00This was an amazing experience from start to finish! Meda, Ville, and Ivan were wonderful guides, particularly Meda. She was very insightful at every stop we made, including the 3-country border, and ensured we had a great experience. They picked us up on time from Tromso. It is a two-and-a-half-hour drive from Tromso to the snowmobiles in Finland, but it does not feel long at all because the bus is very comfortable and warm, with plugs to charge your phone. The gear they provided was perfect, and the snacks and lunch were delicious. Everything is very well organized and well worth the price. Highly recommend this adventure!

4.00The scenery was beautiful, and the guides were very helpful and friendly. The whole activity was very organized, especially with the clothes needed to wear on the snow wheel trip. We actually drove the snowmobiles into Finland and parts of Sweden, or so the guide told us, it was impossible to tell given that you were out in the wilderness area. A good experience overall, the only downside was the 2 1/2 hour drive each way from Tromso. We only had four hours of sunlight that day, but it was very sunny.

5.00It was an amazing snow bike experience, it was my 1st time and I loved 🤗 Taking with the negative temperatures is the hardest, it's even very cold They give a jacket, a jacket to put on top, a second pair of nipples and gloves. However, I recommend having good interior gloves and good layers of clothing underneath. There are a few heating bags to put on the hands and feet that give immense way too (I bought at Decathlon). During the adventure, seeing with the helmet visor becomes difficult, but I also do not advise to stand up for a long time so as not to suffer burns Use a hand heater bag to clean the visor (believe me, you won’t want to take your hands off your gloves to clean 😅). The landscapes, peace and harmony that we feel is from another world. It's something stunning and amazing. Having the experience of riding a snow bike over a frozen lake is something spectacular that I never thought I would experience in my life There is also a stop in the middle of the tour to eat some biscuits and hot drinks At the end, we enjoy a warm meal that comforts the soul ☺️ A thank you to Michiel, Outi, Marcin and the Chasing Lights team 🤗

5.00I couldn’t rate this higher if I tried. All of the guides were attentive and passionate. Even in -36 degree weather we were kept warm but the amount of layers we were given. The guides adapted the route due to the cold and we had an incredible journey through the arctic, seeing some of the most beautiful sights I think I will ever see in my life. The stop at the cabin and lovely food and hot blackcurrant really warmed us up halfway. A special thank you to Meda and Jonas who guided our tour and kept us all safe. To add to all of this we got sent the most lovely professional photos of this trip. Leave your phone on the coach as it’ll lose battery due to the cold anyway! This is an absolute must do if you’re in Tromsø. Thank you all so much.

5.00I was initially concerned that due to all the other excursions being fully booked I ended up with this one which was much more expensive. However, it was worth every penny. It is by far the best excursion I have ever been on. Super well organised, very engaging hosts/guides who were chilled and fun but very safety conscious. I can’t actually think of anything negative to say about the trip. The advice provide me throughout the day, the fact that the excursion included photos is very important and not offered by other companies. What you don’t realise is that in temperatures of -35 your phone won’t work and so you really do need someone there to take photos! Also their photos were of a much higher standard than anything I could have taken. When you are driving a snowmobile you can’t stop and take pictures and you really can’t take your gloves off and expose your skin to -35. We had a particularly cold day. All in all a fantastic excursion and I highly recommend (and I am quite hard to please)!

5.00Bailey, Jefta, Marius, Patryk & the Team at Chasing Lights what can we say! This is one of the best snowmobiling trips we've ever done! Everything was excellent from the warm, comfortable bus ride to our starting point to you very helpful and knowledgeable guides who took great care of us. The scenery was amazing as we cruised over varied terrains to reach the iconic 3-country border (where Finland, Sweden, and Norway meet). The whole experience had a great vibe, and the food and drinks along the way were delicious too. Also what a bonus to get such fantastic photos to remember the trip by. Highly recommend - 5☆
