Hungry Horse Reservoir
Visitors will get an up-close view of the massive 564-foot-tall dam, a curved concrete giant surrounded by steep canyon walls and turquoise water. The scale alone is jaw-dropping, and your guide will share stories about its construction and purpose.
Lake McDonald
Lake McDonald is one of the most iconic and breathtaking stops on our Glacier National Park Scenic Driving Tour. As we arrive in the Apgar area, guests are greeted with a jaw-dropping panorama: a perfectly still, crystal-clear lake framed by towering, jagged peaks.

We took the Combo tour which was excellent. We weren’t able to snowshoe as there wasn’t enough snow but we did hike at Glacier National Park and enjoyed some beautiful scenery. We also stopped at several places -train depot, Hungry Horse Reservoir, Lake McDonald and The Lodge and also drove on part of Going-to-the-Sun Road. We also had a lovely packed lunch outside near one of the gift shops. Our guide, Laurie was fun and informative. Also had lots of info about the area and towns outside of the park- Columbia falls, Kalispell and Whitefish.
