DIFFICULTY: Medium high. The first hour of the hike is steep and then it becomes flat. Altitude increase of 600 meters. Tour subject to change due to weather conditions (rain or snow).

What To Expect
We are going to a unique area close to the city of Santiago, named Cajon del Maipo. We will leave Santiago towards San José de Maipo where if you want you can have a breakfast and drink a coffee in a traditional place and later start again the trip. We are going to continue the trip on the side of the Maipo river, one of the most important rivers of the region, up till the point where we will drop off the van. From this point we are going to start the walk with snowshoes, during this walk we will have the possibility to enjoy breath-taking landscapes covered by snow. After a walk of 4 km we will arrive to La Engorda valley, where we will reach a lookout where we will have the best view of San José Volcano. While staring at this stunning Valley, we are going to share a delicious lunchbox and we will have a moment to take pictures and to relax thanks to the peace of the mountains. Later we are going to start our walk back to the van where we will share a tasty glass of wine. In the late afternoon, evening we are going to arrive to Santiago with our bodies and our minds restored.

The agency maintained communication with us before the trip and Laura, our Guide, and Juan Carlos, the driver, gave us a lot of confidence. The excursion was made according to the description, and the effort was made to make everything perfect. The views were amazing and the walk unforgettable.

5.00My partner and I took the 10k Snow Hike day trip yesterday (September 2020) and had a spectacular experience with AndoAndes. Prior to the day tour, communication with Dani (commercial manager) was superb. The service which was to be provided was clearly explained and messages were replied to promptly. We received door to door pick up and drop off, breakfast, packed lunch, empanadas and wine/beer/fresh blueberry juice upon return. The valley itself is absolutely stunning and other worldly. Our guides Gonzalo and Sebastian took excellent care of us, their enthusiasm for the activity and looking for puma/Andes Cat prints certainly rubbed off on us! The equipment provided was solid too - it was just a lovely day thanks to the attentiveness and sense of humour of the guides. We fully intend to excursion with AndoAndean again (ASAP)!

5.00Francisco and Berni served as guides, excellent experience, very well prepared. The tour offers historical background of the Cajon del Maipo area and San José, there are stops for breakfast and equipment rental. The tour is very safe. Highly recommended.

5.00The best and most fantastic experience we had in Chile. Spotless, super organized, our driver Manu very nice people. We were lucky enough to be guided by Francisco who knows all about the mountain and the snow. Fun guaranteed with responsibility and culture of the place. The place visited is breathtaking, a fantastic view. You'll enjoy the best snow hike that only AndoAndes can do for you in Chile. Ride worth every penny you paid. I highly recommend it.

5.00Great walk! I recommend it to everyone. It was me, my wife and my eight-year-old daughter. Along with us were a couple from São Paulo, a Spanish and two friends from the Bahamas. We were guided by two excellent people, Nico and Berni. I recommend them too, for the walk. They're excellent.

5.00The tour is wonderful and got even better with the guides Berti and Manu! They are very attentive! They were punctual upon arrival at the hotel, fulfilled everything planned and were very attentive throughout the journey ensuring the safety of the group! They gave several tips, we stopped for photos at various points and we had a very nice day! I recommend you both if you want to do this adventure in a fun and safe way!
