At Hey Captain we do Social Sailing, where you meet new people and explore Copenhagen harbor. We started as friends on a boat and this is the atmosphere we want to deliver to our guests. It's a talk and a dialogue more than your standard classical tour.
The Captain’s Favorite is for you who wants to explore all of Copenhagen in its full glory. We explore the development of the harbor by journeying through areas that has been built by creating artificial islands over the last many decades. We do a brief stop at the fortress on Trekroner Island where history mix with the future, when we explore the historic fortress and see the first land reclamation of Lynetteholmen - the future island of Copenhagen. We then continue to Nordhavn where you experience firsthand the modern part of Copenhagen and how urbanization is transforming the industrial harbor into the recreational oasis that has made Copenhagen so famous. In the end we finish off with the picturesque canals of the old city centre.

The boat captain/guide was great. Very knowledgeable, friendly and informative. It is a much smaller group than the larger boats so it's more social and friendly.

This Harbor Cruise was absolutely a highlight of our 3 days in Copenhagen. While there are a number of options, I strongly recommend using Hey Captain! Small (but more than stable) boats with a smaller group who are encouraged to socialize during the 3 hours. Our primary captain, Malthe, was fantastic. He shared so much history and current culture as we saw a vast amount of the city from the waterways. As a Chicagoan I always recommend visitors take the Architecture Cruise on the Chicago river which is not to be missed—I’d say the EXACT same thing about this cruise. The option for beer or wine is an additional nice touch. Again 5+ stars and booking through Viator was simple and reliable.

Loved the small boat, the guides (!!) and the whole vibe. It was nice to be leisurely and mix social with tourist attractions actions. I highly recommend this tour. Take the long one. Elias and Ida were wonderful

A great tour that included a stopover on the old military island. It was very informative, social and intimate. We got to know the people well on the tour and there were only 8 of us. But the key was the tour guide, Elias, he was exceptional; knowledgeable, personable and very friendly. I highly recommend the 3 hour tour.

We chose the three hour tour and it was wonderful. Our guides Rebecca and Stephen were absolutely wonderful. The information and conversation exceeded our expectations and we learned a great deal. The boat was comfortable, blankets were provided should we had gotten cold, and drinks were provided for a fee. The bathrooms located at pickup/dropoff were extremely clean and accessible. The staff was kind and helpful! Our family consisted of two parents and four children ranging from 16-22 years. We would highly recommend this experience.

Elmer was a friendly, knowledgeable guide for our three hour cruise around Copenhagen’s harbors and canals. From the historic barracks at Treskrones to Nyhavn and the more crowded city waterways, he had interesting history to share. We were expecting there might be rain (canopies are provided if the elements don’t cooperate), but were treated to light clouds and eventually bright sun. Highly recommended!

Jan was very friendly and genuinely welcoming. He genuinely made it social sailing. We really saw everything that can be seen from the water in the small canals and on the main waterway. Fantastic experience and would absolutely do it again!

Ally was such an incredible guide ! She knows so much about Copenhagen and gave us so many wonderful memories!! We learned an enormous amount of interesting information in such an intimate friendly atmosphere….only 7 people on the small boat. We loved the socializing and educational atmosphere. I would highly recommend this experience. It’s a MUST DO in Copenhagen! Ally gets an A+++++ !

This was wonderful. I booked a three hour tour. The captains Johanna and … were wonderful. The “social part” is very casual and actually very nice. It is doesn’t feel as part of the concept, the captains were actually interested in what you do and why you are here. I highly recommend this activity.

Fabulous canal cruise - heaps of information. We had a ball - it was fun and our tour guide was awesome ( I think his name was Oscar) Highly recommend this style of boat and its smaller size - much better than the huge boats and it can go down any canal
