We thoroughly enjoyed the tour of La Masseria family farm. Our tour guide Raffaele explained some of the rewards and challenges of running this small family business. The tour began with a visit to the laying hens, a friendly cow, and a goat. We continued down through various terraces to the lemon groves near the bottom of the hill. We finished the tour with a visit to a small cave containing wine, cured meat, and homemade cheese from the neighbors. Following the tour, we were treated to samples of orange- and lemon-flavored extra virgin olive oil and fresh lemonade. The lunch consisted of several delicious starters and pasta served with wine, and finished with lemon cake and a limoncello toast. All of the food was absolutely the best—fresh and delicious to the last crumb. Our hosts obviously put a lot of time and effort into making an enjoyable experience for their guests.

Amazing experience learning about farming in this area. The family of La Masseira Farm is beautiful and the lunch was delicioso! Eugenio was very funny and informative. Please know that there are steep hills you will be walking along, so wear good shoes and be prepared for uneven paths. Breathtaking views of the coastline and a refreshing breeze as you take in all the beauty around you.
