Have you ever collected a bunch of shells along the beach, just to take them home and collect dust on a shelf?! Then this workshop is the perfect activity for you! With the help of special tools, colorful beads and hands-on instruction, you’ll be taking home handmade, custom and unique souvenirs for yourself and others! Bring your own shells, or choose from a curated selection, hand-picked from right here in Jamaica!

What To Expect

During the workshop, you can choose to make three different Jamaican souvenirs. You can choose from Jewelry, making a glass from our traditional Red Stripe beer bottle, or make a candle with calabash, fabricate your own body scrub and so much more! As part of the experience, you will walk through our garden of 14 fruit trees, taste real jamaïcain soup, taste some exotic fruits, taste the best tea. You will enjoy our little farm wirh local goats, rabbits, ducks and chicken, clim in tree houses to watch birds and even get a kick of our mud kitchen! By the end of the activity, you’ll have created the most, unique and custom souvenir! This is the perfect activity for singles, couples, girl trips and families and you’ll always have fond memories of your amazing trip to Jamaica! We are located in the middle of Montego Bay, 5 mninutes from airport and downtown, and have a huge backyard of 1 acre land, filled with 14 fruit trees (May-June July we have so many mangoes you can handpick yourself!!) The art table is located under an ackee tree, and really offers a cool, beautiful and inspiring spot. We will have some typical Jamaican snacks and drinks, so come and create together!

Superb day of guided tours with Marie. She is a Quebecer who lives in Jamaica and she is excellent at her job and very, very warm and kind. We visited Montego Bay and the surrounding area. To do again with her. Thanks to Marie xx

This is so original! My little family and i left with beautiful souvenir we can wear now. This is the best souvenir ever. We got to share a precious moment of creativity together. And the host is so lovely, nice, talented, and patient!!! I wish I could have this kind of creative activity everytime I travel!!!

What an amazing unique experience while travelling to Jamaica. While enjoying this incredibly beautiful backyard, in a peaceful atmosphere, we made jewelry that is meaningful. I was able to use the shells I personally picked while walking on the beach. That’s part of what makes the experience so special. But not only that, Marie was just wonderful and creative. Would highly recommend the experience if you love art, nature, creative and unique experiences. ♥️♥️♥️

Marie is absolutely amazing! She is so creative and truly has a real talent for jewelry making. The materials that she uses are unique and stunning. The atmosphere where you work is so authentically Jamaican and serene. I am now able to return home with a memorable and beautiful keepsake of Jamaica! What a beautiful day at the Somom property, making a beautiful necklace of shells harvested from the local olages! Comfortably settled well cooled under beautiful mature fruit trees and well guided by our charming hostess, Marie, an unforgettable moment! And what a joy to leave with this beautiful necklace created by us, which will remind us all year round of this beautiful moment in Jamaica!

Thank you Marie for the great afternoon that broke up the semi-boredom that I had between sitting on the beach and eating! I actually felt like I accomplished something! The concept is brilliant. Instead of buying something at the craft market (which I still did anyways), I was able to make something beautiful and useful ! I definitely have a ton of shells at home from past trips and now I’m not scared to make more ! Thanks for teaching me a new skill! Loved your yard as well !!
