We went on this tour with Natalia as our guide. Natalia is half Pridenstrovian and grew up partially there in her childhood. You could feel her love of the country through out the whole trip. She shared not only facts and history of this lovely country but childhood memories as well making this trip a remarkable experience. We would highly recommend this tour, and if you get Natalia as your guide to take you through this lovely area, you will be truely lucky.

If you get the chance to take this tour, do not hesitate for a second. Our guide Nicolai picked us up in the morning and what followed was one of the most memorable days of our entire trip. Yes, you get the standard Tiraspol tour — the Soviet monuments, the Sheriff superstore, the unrecognised currency, the checkpoints — but what sets this experience apart is the depth of knowledge and genuine passion he brought to every single moment. He covered the history of Transnistria with remarkable nuance: the totalitarian legacy, the mentality shaped by decades of isolation, the painful realities of poverty, and the complex question of what EU integration might mean for people here. But what truly distinguished him as a guide was his approach. He never lectured. He would point things out and let you draw your own conclusions. He didn't tell us "people here are sad" or "people here are unhappy." Instead, at the end of the day he simply said: "Pay attention to how many people smiled at you today." That one quiet observation said more than any lecture ever could. But the highlight came on the way back, when he took us off the beaten path entirely — winding through remote villages where time seems to have stopped. Abandoned houses, crumbling factories, roads that barely deserve the name. And in each village, he pointed out what he called the Soviet-era trilogy: the World War II monument honouring the victims and the victory over Nazism, the House of Culture where ideology was spread and community life was controlled, and the Lenin statue — because no Soviet village, however small, was complete without one. You could see his eyes light up hunting for these traces of a vanished world. It felt like travelling with a dedicated archaeologist of communism. He was attentive to our needs throughout, accommodating every special request without hesitation. The tour ran more than two hours over schedule — not because anything went wrong, but because there was always one more thing worth seeing, one more thought worth provoking. By the end he was clearly exhausted, having given absolutely everything. But he was also, unmistakably, happy. This is not a tour. It is an experience that will stay with you. Highest possible recommendation.

The trip was beautiful. We visited Tiraspol and Bender. The locals were kind and friendly. Marcel, our guide, was very professional and nice. Although Transnistria is not a recognized state, the visit was safe and hassle-free. We had lunch at the Soviet canteen and the menu was tasty and varied. The price of lunch is very cheap. It was great fun to visit the fruit market. It is an experience to repeat! Thanks for everything to Natalia and Marcel.

What a day! I loved the tour with Nikolay to Transnistria/Pridnestrovian Moldovan Republic. He made the day pleasant and interesting for me. I have now returned to the hotel in Chisinau with alot of memories and impressions to digest. Nikolay was friendly and attentive, and he was driving the car very confidently, pleasant and carefully. All in all a perfect individual guided tour. I give both Natalia, who I was in contact with prior to the trip, him and the tour itself a 5/5 star and my best recommandations. I felt so safe in Transnistria too. Pridnestrovie (Transnistria) is a very exciting country to visit. It’s like arriving in a time machine back to the Soviet era. Interesting to see the places such as Tiraspol and Bender, and how the people live their daily lives in a non-recognized country. The government in several western countries doesn’t recommend going to Transnistrian region. However, please don’t worry. If you go on this organized tour, you have absolutely nothing to fear. I do not hesitate going back to Transnistria someday.

Travelers visiting Chisinau, Moldova must definitely take this day tour to Transnistria to have a different experience of the Soviet Era. My partner and I with another couple were very happy with our tour guide Natalia. She's very knowledgeable and knows a lot about the history of this part of the country. Weather wasn't cooperative but Natalia provided us with umbrellas and managed to take us to all the locations included in the itinerary for the day. Very polite and excellent driver. Highly recommended, you won't regret booking her for a day tour when in Chisinau.
