Had a wonderful experience on the Soviet Walking Tour with Liudmyla! Kyiv Walking Tours was able to fit me in their schedule not only on short notice, but with exceptionally extenuating circumstances due to the war. This was not my first time in Kyiv; before the war, I used to live and work 45 minutes away from the city, but this was my first visit back since 2021, so, I wanted to make the most of it. Liudmyla was exceptionally informative--I learned so much about locations which I'd seen many times over, but had no idea of their past. She was also very receptive and patient to my questions--of which there were a lot! There were many locations on the tour that were off-limits due to security concerns, but Liudmyla always checked with the guards; she even helped me find the best angle of the parliament building through the barbed wire fence! She even gave me a small gift on behalf of her and her colleague, Vlad, at the end of the tour. Overall, I really had an amazing experience with this company. If you find yourself in Kyiv, don't hesitate to reach out to them. I know I'll be writing to them again in the future when I return to my favorite city!

One of the best tours I did! The group was very small and very cold day (at least for me)! He’s English was perfect, and very clear! The tour was very informative and rage way he was giving history lessons was very easy to get. I strongly recommend everyone to do this tour with him!

We did the Soviet Kyiv and Ancient Kyiv walking tours and thoroughly enjoyed them! The guides are both personable and knowledgeable. Each were 2.5 to 3 hours, so bundle up in you're going in winter!

First of all, the meeting point was not clearly mentioned and we had to look for our guide for 10 minutes. The geolocation was wrong and Irina had no umbrella or something like that to recognize her. The Tour itself was alright, but I don't really get why it's called The "soviet tour". She showed us some places but she didn't made it sound interesting at all. Also she told us to hurry up all the time because it got dark, but it's not our fault if it's not planned well. Also she recommended a restaurant which was closed and didn't knew any bars in the city , not what you except as a student group from a local. By far the worst free-tour I've ever been to! Hope it will get better in the future.

The tour was amazingly insightful for me and my friends. I always thought that Soviet architecture only consisted of the classical brutalist aesthetic most of us usually think of but Kiev truly is the most beautiful city I’ve ever visited. Ask for Victoria - she knows what she’s doing :)

I adored this tour around Kyiv. I learnt about many old buildings and sights linking to the long and rocky relationship between Ukraine and Russia. It made me appreciate and learn so much more about Ukraine and its architecture ranging from the 5th century all the way to the 21st. Would easily reccomend to anyone who's travelling to Kyiv

The Soviet tour with Leo was great and provided a lot of background information, local stories and legends. Leo is also a great resource of what's generally going on in Kiev. The company produces a lot of good tours, the Ancient Kiev tour and Podil walking tours were also a great way to see and learn more about the city.
