Trogir
Trogir is a UNESCO World Heritage town known for its beautiful mix of history and charm. Founded more than 2,000 years ago, it has seen Greeks, Romans, and Venetians all leave their mark. The old town sits on a small island, linked by bridges, and is perfect for exploring on foot. Its narrow stone streets, hidden courtyards, and small squares create a special atmosphere that feels like stepping back in time. At the heart of Trogir stands the Cathedral of St. Lawrence, famous for its 13th-century portal carved by Master Radovan. The palm-lined waterfront is another highlight, with cafés, boats, and the Kamerlengo Fortress offering wonderful views of the sea and town. Though compact, Trogir is truly unforgettable.
Diocletian’s Palace is the heart of Split and one of the most remarkable Roman monuments in the world. Built around 305 AD by the Roman emperor Diocletian as his retirement residence, the palace is more like a small city than a single building. Within its massive walls you’ll find a maze of narrow streets, lively squares, and centuries of history layered together. Highlights include the Peristyle, once the ceremonial courtyard; the Cathedral of St. Domnius, originally Diocletian’s mausoleum; and the underground cellars, which give you a sense of the palace’s original scale. Today the palace is still alive, filled with shops, cafés, and homes. Walking through it feels like stepping into living history — where the Roman past meets the everyday life of Split.

Had a great tour lead by Sanja. She was very kind and was able to tell us about the history of the city. She also spoke to us about Croatian culture, and gave us recommendations. She didn’t rush us at all, and went above and beyond with her hospitality. Would definitely recommend to my friends and family!

We thoroughly enjoyed our walking tour with Silvio even though it was raining all day. We were shown the highlights of both cities. You could tell that Silvio was proud of his home city. He was full of useful information. Van was clean and comfortable.

We traveled with 2 other couples to Trogir & Split. Our tour guide was very hospitalable in answering everyone's questions, providing a thorough tour overview, and having a driver take us in a Mercedes.

Easy to find our tour guide Silvio as we walked out of the terminal. Delightful ride over to Trogir first and we beat the crowds and tour buses. Learning all the history and all that transpired there through the ages was totally fascinating. Our second stop was at the Diocletian Palace in Split. Having a small group (4) we covered a lot. Will definitely book with Viator again.

My friends and I had a fabulous time on Silvio's Split and Trogir tour. The tour from pick up to drop off was very well organized. I appreciated Silvio's entertaining stories about his country's people, places and history as he led us through the beautiful town of Trogir and then Diocletian's Palace in Split, first built for a Roman emperor but very much lived in today. And he recommended a great local spot for lunch. Highly recommend!

Great tour for getting off the cruise ship. Guides spoke perfect English and new the history of Split and Trogir. At times hard to hear what the guide was saying due to the crowds of people but all in all good tour. Wear comfortable walking shoes and dress appropriately for the weather (it looked nice out but the wind was super cold on the day we went).

We have plenty of time to visit the two cities. We returned to the boat on time. The guide Silvio was incredible. He loves his city and provides plenty of historical details. He makes everything come alive. Frances Montreal

We were picked up at the pier by our cruise ship. The loved that we only had 7 in our group. I saw huge crowds loaded into tour buses for their group tour. Small group tour is the way to go. In spite of the rain, Silvio was able to keep us entertained with the history of these two unique cities. We had plenty of free time to explore on our own.
