Durres

Our enthusiastic tour guide will be waiting for you at Tirana International Airport for a warm welcome. Afterwards you will be transported to a seaside hotel in the coastal city of Durres (approx. 40min from the airport). You will take your time to relax, have a walk by the beach, enjoy a drink etc.

Durres Amphitheatre

You have glimpsed the city on your arrival, but now is time to go deeper into its history and other beautiful attractions. You will visit Durres Amphitheatre, the largest Roman amphitheatre ever built in the Balkan Peninsula. It was used for gladiator fights and other events, estimated to once having a capacity of 20,000 people. You can explore the ruins and get a sense of what it was like to attend an event there.

Venetian Tower of Durres

The journey will continue in exploring The Castle of Durres, which dates back to the Byzantine period and was later used by the Venetians and Ottomans.

Durres

Depending on the season/weather, the late afternoon is reserved either for a sunset catching event or to explore the capital city of Tirana.

Berat Castle

We will depart from the hotel in Durres and drive towards Berat, the city of “one above one” windows, also famously known for hosting a UNESCO heritage site. After check-in to a traditional hotel, we will walk through the narrow streets of the old city and climb up the hill to visit the city castle. Berat Castle dates back to the 4th century BC, and its walls are still largely intact. You can walk along the walls and get stunning views of the city and surrounding landscape.

The strategic location of Berat gives the opportunity to participate in lots of exciting activities. During this vacation we want you to relax but also to be active for the benefit of your body and mind. The activities chosen will be at extra cost. Upon your arrival our tour guide will help you choose the activity that is more appropriate for you, depending also on the season, availability and weather conditions. (i) Rafting (Osum river or Vjosa river) (ii) River Hiking in Osumi Canyons (iii) Tomor Mountain hiking (iv) Kayaking in Vjosa River. For those who do not want to participate in any of the activities listed, you might opt for a cooking class at the hotel or stroll around and be advised by us for spending your free time at best.

Gjirokaster

We will depart from Berat and drive towards Gjirokastra, another UNESCO heritage site, known as “the stone city”, also hosting a gorgeous castle. After hotel check-in, our first stop will be at Gjirokastra Castle, also known as the Fortress of Gjirokastra, and is one of the most iconic landmarks in the city of Gjirokastra. The castle dates back to the 12th century and has been an important military fortification for centuries. Our walking tour continues through the narrow streets of the old city until reaching Skenduli House, a well-preserved example of an Ottoman-era house located in the historic city of Gjirokastra. It is one of the most famous and visited houses in Gjirokastra due to its unique architecture and rich history. Skenduli House has been inhabited by the same family for over 300 years, and the current owners are the ninth generation of Skenduli family.

Afternoon and evening will be free for you. We suggest to spend the evening in the Old Bazaar of Gjirokastra, a wonderful way to experience the city's vibrant atmosphere and unique culture. The Old Bazaar is known for its traditional crafts and handmade products. You can find shops selling everything from handmade jewelry to hand-woven rugs and traditional Albanian clothing.

Gjirokaster

With its stunning natural scenery and diverse landscape, the city of Gjirokaster offers a range of outdoor activities. The activities you will select to partecipate will be at extra cost. Upon your arrival our tour guide will help you choose the activity that is more appropriate for you, depending also on the season and weather conditions. (i) Hiking to Antigonea Park (ii) Horse riding (minimum, intermediate riding or advanced skills) (iii) Butrint Tour (iv) Zagoria "off road" Tour (v) Day tour to the Thermal Baths of Benje, in Permet. For those who do not want to participate in any of the activities listed, you might opt for a cooking class or stroll around and be advised by us for spending your free time at best.

Karaburun-Sazan National Marine Park

Depart from Gjirokastra and drive towards Vlora. The city is gifted with natural attractions, the main ones being Karaburun Peninsula and Sazan Island. Karaburun Peninsula is known for its pristine beaches and crystal-clear waters where you can swim, sunbathe, and enjoy the natural beauty of the area. Sazan Island, which is located a few kilometers off the coast of Vlora, was a military base during the communist era, but today it is a protected nature reserve.

Tirana

After breakfast, we will start our journey back to Tirana International Airport. Depending on the time of the flight, we will take care of you until the departure time.
