There’s no better way to learn about the history and culture of a community than to eat its food. On our Newfoundland Food Tour, you will eat your way through downtown St. John’s. Newfoundland and Labrador has one of the most unique food cultures in Canada. Long known for seafood, wild game, and delicious traditional meals, the province has a long list of mouth-watering ingredients and recipes. From a CFA finding success selling beloved Newfoundland pastry to a haunted pub that inspired a TV set to a former fruit stand literally built on the ashes of the Great Fire, we’ll explore the people, stories, and food that make the city unique.
Come hungry! If you arrive gut-foundered, by the time we finish our walk, you’ll be stogged. And yes...we'll teach you what those local terms mean. ;)

Food was great but the information learned was the best! 6 great restaurants. Beautiful day to walk around St. John’s downtown

We had the luck of a lovely summer day to walk through this seaside community. Our guide was really fun as well as informative. The fish take on a poutine was a highlight. Be aware there was a lot of food - I had to skip dessert!

We had an excellent time. Food was top notch. Dave was incredibly educated and passionate about St John’s. We learned a lot of great factoids and history/herstory while on his tour. We ended up going to see some local musicians after his enthusiastic recommendation. Had a blast. Even went to the Rooms at his recommendation where we learned more about Newfoundland history, had a cocktail and took in the gorgeous views. Highly recommend. Arrive hungry. You won’t starve. The portions are plentiful.

Tyra was a great guide, offering history and cultural narratives that enriched our foodie experience. The food was somewhat less inspiring, particularly the toutons which were raw inside.
