What To Expect

Stargazing Zion is pleased to host you, family, and friends for an entertaining evening of stargazing and astronomy on a field adjacent to the newly dedicated International Dark Sky Park, Zion National Park. Starting with a brief 10-minute walk to our dark sky location, our guides will then familiarize you with the night sky as astronomical twilight begins to set. Each guest lounges in their own Yogibo. These pods conform to your body, eliminating pressure points to make it comfortable and easy to view the star-filled sky. Each guest also has a pair of Celestron Outland X Binoculars to view the sky from their Yogibo. Our astronomy guides will present a 2-hour program that includes state-of-the-art telescopes and laser pointers to guide you around the constellations and objects of the night sky. We also provide guests an up-close view of celestial objects (galaxies, nebulae, clusters) through our powerful telescopes. Hot beverages are provided as well, such as hot chocolate, coffee and tea. We had the best time and really was a highlight of our trip to Utah. The skies were perfect. We did plan perfect with a new moon and got lucky enough that there were NO clouds. Matt had so much knowledge and answered a variety of questions from the group. I loved being out there with those stars. Thank you also to come back and get the photos as part of the package. Matt & Justice(or Justin?) were great guides. Matt was very knowledgeable, friendly and flexible dealing with the unexpected cloud cover. He made it a lot of fun! Justice was very friendly and did a great job taking our pics.

The tour was mind blowing! Adam, our tour guide gave a great talk about stars,planets & galaxies that ( non astrologers) could understand. A huge feat considering the vastness of the universe & the fact that there are still so many unknowns. An experience I will never forget!

Excellent! Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Telescopes were incredible. Small group so plenty of opportunities to look through telescopes. Pods were comfortable and really appreciated blankets. It was cold even in September with high during the day of 89. They even take your picture with the Milkyway in the background and email to you for free with photos from telescopes! Highly recommend.

What a magical experience! Our entire trip to Zion was incredible but stargazing was definitely the highlight. Michael is so knowledgeable and seems to really enjoy sharing information and stories about the cosmos. Worth every penny!

The guides were very knowledgeable and professional. The sky was perfect for seeing constellations. I wish the booking site gave more detailed information about the amount of walking. My husband has limited heart function and would have loved to have known the amount of walking, including some uphill. Still, totally worth the experience!! Also, only a tiny red light clicker was provided but needed a true flashlight while walking back to parking lot in total darkness. I suggest bringing your own flashlight for safety (and bring a jacket, it became freezing by 11:30 pm).

The Astronomer and Photographer were both extremely knowledgeable. The night sky was absolutely stunning. All questions were answered in a very down to earth manner that was easy to understand. The galaxies and nebulae seen from the telescopes where mind blowing.
