I don't normally bother writing reviews for things like this--I normally just do hotels--but after booking this experience specifically because Tripadvisor promoted it as a highly-rated experience, I feel compelled to provide a counterbalance. This was a somewhat shoestring operation--just 2 women trying to do everything--and it showed. The astronomer herself was honestly not a good guide at all. It seemed as if maybe she was asked to do this at the last minute. Even with amplification, she was very hard to hear, no charisma, and she didn't have enough to say to fill up the allotted time. Her pointer didn't even work consistently. There was 1 telescope for about 20 people. Honestly, the best things they provided were the blankets and hot chocolate. I mean, yes, we learned a few interesting things, but I would have rather saved our money and just watched the stars on our own.

Great experience with our 6 year old grandson. He was able to understand all that was said plus he got to look thru a professional telescope. Jupiter, satellites and the international space station are his quoted highlights. Plenty of blankets and a cup of hot chocolate helped keep the cold away. Heartily recommend this for a child’s first experience star gazing with professionals.

Fabulous experience with astronomer Prash and host Emily in the Blue Mountains. Prash was so knowledgable and my husband and I enjoyed everything about the experience. I’m leaving Australia with a new found knowledge about the night sky. Thank you! Definitely get there a little early to watch the sunset from Jamison Lookout.

Knowledgeable guide, friendly environment . My first booking was cancelled due to bad weather. I received a voucher and booked at a later date. From this venue we could see a lot of stars. The guide introduced us with a lot of new things that I started to explore after I came back. He answered a lot of questions from a lot of us. The laser pointer was a good way to point to stars, he also had the telescope pointing to interesting planets/stars/deep-space-objects. I plan to go again in winter, expecting to have another view of the night sky. Next time I’ll take my kid.

If the experience is not in the open air it is not worth it. Their planetary is very weak. In addition eh small which makes them split into two groups.

Nathan was very knowledgeable & interesting .it was a shame it was so windy & we had the viewing in the park instead of at the lookout
