Cape Town's best and most authentic wine tasting experience! The wine tractor is a hop-on hop-off tour of some of the finest wine farms & hidden gems in Stellenbosch's Golden Triangle. Explore the vineyards & working wine farms, visiting grand estates, boutique producers, and historic homesteads. Enjoy a unique perspective that only a tractor can give you as you travel through the back-roads and vineyards while our friendly guides teach you about the area and Stellenbosch's history of wine-making. At every farm you will get 65 minutes to relax and enjoy the wines or grab a bite to eat at a relaxed un-rushed pace before setting off the the next farm.
Most farms are child-friendly, offering kids' areas and activities.
Only 35 min from Cape Town, 20 from the airport.
Please note that cellar tours are not included in the tour. It is a wine tasting tour sampling the different wines produced on each different farm. Cellar tours can be arranged directly with some farms at a extra cost

Guests need to arrive 30 min in advance at Root44 Market before scheduled departure time to sign in and there is a welcome taster on arrival
Tastings are not included in the standard ticket. Tastings typically cost R110 each at the various estates.
Daily shuttle from Cape Town is available at an additional cost of R350, the shuttle needs to be booked directly with our ticket office 24 hours in advance. PLS note space on the shuttle is limited
Shuttle is only available for the 10:30 tractor departure
Cancellation Policy
For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

You can choose which Estate you decide to hop off at, with 65 minutes being spent at each estate that you decide to visit. Please note that not all estates are available every day due to private functions or different opening hours. Please note that you will not be able to visit every estate on the tour in one day so you will need to choose where you get on and off.

5.00If joy had wheels, it would be the Wine Tractor. What an absolute vibe of a day celebrating my cousin officially being DONE with final exams. With my mum by my side, because of course she is part of all my best memories. From laughs to clinking glasses, every stop felt special, but our hearts were stolen by Annandale, Audacia, and Grangehurst Winery. Yes, they may be smaller… but wow, each one had its own personality, charm, and story. Proof that big magic comes in small vineyards Think cosy tastings, passionate hosts, and wines that made us pause mid-sentence just to say, “Okay… this one’s GOOD.” Relaxed, intimate, and full of character ,exactly how a wine day should feel. 10/10 would climb back onto that tractor again 🍇🚜 Cheers to celebrations, family, and discovering hidden gems together.

2.00In principle, the idea of getting to know wineries by tractor is really cool. 10 wineries are offered, of which two - because not open - were already removed from the options before the tour began, another two were deleted because one was supposedly crowded and one had already closed in the afternoon. So not all pre-purchased wine tasting vouchers could be redeemed. Why I definitely don't recommend this tour : There are so many really beautiful wineries, most of them not included in this tour. The guides on the tractors are friendly cattle drivers, but don’t tell anything relevant.

3.00Some wineries were closed and unfortunately a winery was already closed that we wanted to visit. However, the management was very understanding. The wines were overall very good and different. Speaker very loud in the tractor.
Enjoyable way to visit several vineyards in a day travelling the local lanes behind a tractor, highly recommended

5.00This was our first time in Stellenbosch and the wine region so as we had no idea about visiting vineyards and what that entailed we decided to do something different and we had such a fun experience. We meet lots of different people and got to understand how visiting a vineyard and wine tasting works. We could not recommend this highly enough, we visited some beautiful vineyards and had a brilliant experience.
