The Kelpies & The Helix
We will walk among giants as we get up close to the magnificent Kelpies. Enjoy the old Scottish stories of these mythical creatures and visit the area where the Gentle Giants worked on the land. The Kelpies are based on a Scottish Folktale, told to keep young children away from any dangerous water edge but they are also a tribute to the Clydesdale horses that worked in 3 industries that are prevalent in this area. The 98 foot high statues are a fitting tribute to the "Gentle Giants" and the detail can only be appreciated when you walk right up to them. There is a visitor centre where the guests can pick up souvenirs and stop for a comfort break.
We will walk on the battlefield of one of Scotland's most famous battles as we explore the story of Robert The Bruce and his incredible victory at the Battle of Bannockburn in 1314. Stand at the site of the famous battle and transport yourself back to the times of great war lords and bloody battles.

Dave is extremely knowledgeable and easy-going. He allowed us to customize our tour to include the Wallace Monument. He explained Scotland's complicated history in a manner that was easy to follow and relevant to the sites we saw. His van was well-provisioned with snacks and beverages for the journey. We were 4 satisfied customers!

We took the tour of Stirling Castle and the Trossachs with guide David Cornwallis. It was a fantastic tour and one of the highlights of our trip. David is very knowledgeable, informative, and humorous, and we learned a lot about Stirling Castle, the history and battles, and the Scottish royal family. We saw a number of "hairy coos" and met, fed and kissed "Hamish the Hairy Coo". We had lunch at a lovely inn, including some haggis balls appetizers, and took photos at Loch Lomond. David provided us water, Scottish soda, shortbread cookies, and a bit of whiskey, and was a wonderful driver. The tour was an overall great experience. We highly recommend booking your tour with David.
