Growing up in Galway has given me an intimate knowledge of the rich and vibrant history of the jewel of the west, Galway.
Much like the strong currents of the River Corrib that run through it, the stories and tales of its inhabitants have flowed through my life. A family heritage of storytelling imbued me with a love for imparting a good yarn.
These tours will have the history, the lore and the origins of Galway’s unique culture, from a true native Galwegian!
My walking tours draw from 20 years involvement in theatre, storytelling and music. My guided jaunts around Galway are the perfect marriage of all these aspects of my life. It will become abundantly clear the joy it provides me and I aim to share this joy with my customers.
If it’s the culinary delights of Galway, its medieval history, its lesser known stories or the rich musical and artistic heritage of the city you seek to learn about, I would be privileged to guide you along the way.

Walking Galway Tours (with Conor!) is absolutely where one needs to begin their journey in Galway! I've been on many scripted, flat, uninspiring walking tours across Europe--this was the complete opposite. Conor delivers a perfect narrative that ranges from his personal origin and connection to the city/country, to the cultural and geologic evolution of western Ireland, to the food/music/events relevant to the very day of your tour (he reads the room well). Comfortable, delightful, interesting, beyond worth your time!

Conor made our Galway visit rich and memorable. His in-depth knowledge, quick wit, and evident love for Galway/ Irish culture and history ensured deep appreciation and a desire to return to Galway if ever presented with the opportunity; now we are all wannabe Galwegians! He led our group of 19 through the ongoing Arts Festival— a sensory schmorgasbord of color, music, art, and smells; I feel he provided us a very immersive experience. The ‘wall in the mall’ excursion was also a nice touch. 1000% recommend!!!!

Conor’s tour was lovely. Concise and knowledgeable. And yet he had time to answer all our questions and make recommendations about places to go and things to do. Thank you

Very great tour/ experience. My dad and I felt lucky to get a private tour from him when we saw plenty of the other hoards of big brand groups walking around, it was definitely the worth booking here! Plenty of back and forth jokes, and hearing his personal first hand stories was definitely the cherry on top! Felt very personal and was over all a great and interactive experience. (And if he’s reading this please email the selfie!! 🤣 Thanks) an important point to add he was also very patient when my dad and I would stop and take photos or get locked in in asking too many questions ✌🏻👍🏻 good stuff.

Great mix of a Galway history lesson plus local recommendations. Suggest you do this tour at the beginning of your visit to help navigate the city and use Conor’s tips for pubs, restaurants, sights, etc. Very engaging guide!
