Discover Budapest’s street art scene and learn about the city’s contemporary culture, history and politics through these vibrant murals and street art pieces on a small group with a local guide.
On this tour, we’re going to give you an insider look at the history, the culture, and the creative context.
The bulk of this tour will be spent looking at murals, graffitis and other forms of street art. The more you explore, the more you’ll find, dotted around the otherwise bare walls of the city’s Jewish Quarter. But, we’re not just here to take photos.
We’ll discuss each piece, the themes and their socio-political background, themes and the artists behind them. With local artists dominating the scene – and using their work to celebrate ideas and items that locals hold precious – you’ll find yourself getting an accidental lesson in history and culture.
Our small-group tours are limited to 8 people only, so you’ll get plenty of chance to ask questions and get local tips

What a brilliant experience and fantastic insight not only into the thriving Street Art Scene but a locals perspective on how the city continues to evolve! Attila was the perfect guide, such knowledge and passion not only for the Art but also Historic and political landscape! Many thanks for the added tips he gave at the end of the tour and the little gems we went onto find afterwards! Great Food recommendations and an opportunity to visit other city artists.

Atilla’s knowledge of the city and its rich history is second to none. An entertaining and relaxed tour, suitable for all ages that showed us a side to the city we never would have found otherwise. Highly recommended.

This tour must be in the top 3 things you do when visiting Budapest! The tour goes far beyond an exploration of the murals to include the history, culture, and nuanced stories of the neighborhood that you can not get from anywhere but an informed and passionate local such as Attila. He customizes the experience to your questions and interests. He is patient, kind, and so knowlegeable. If you are intimidated by a walking tour, please know that this tour can cover a short distance with a tremendous amount of content. It is individually paced and accessible. We have taken many tours and this one far exceeds anything we have experienced to date. Thank you, Attila, for making our Budapest experience so much more than a cursory review of the common tourist spots. Because of you, we were truly able to experience the depth of Budapest and Hungarian culture in a unique way that we will never forget.

One of the best walking tours I have done anywhere, and I have done many. Attila had a wonderful understanding of the history of Budapest’s central area, especially the old Jewish ghetto. He spoke about street markers and city art with real passion. He also responded to each question f on the group expertly. I loved this! Don Derosby New York City and Mexico City.

Hands down the most enjoyable and truly informative experience I’ve had in Budapest. No boring facts you could read in a book. Instead a delightful journey through history to present time through the eyes of various street artists. If you take one tour while in Budapest, make this it. It’s also a very intimate tour with no more than eight, so you really have a chance to ask questions and get to know the city.

This Street Art Tour with Attila from Budapest Flow was awesome! I learned so much. Attila has lived in the area (former Jewish ghetto) since before it started being revitalized/gentrified and grew up under communism. He was able to explain some of the nuances and history of pieces that I just would never have understood or been able to appreciate otherwise. Loved the combo of sanctioned murals, paste ups, stickers, tags and more. We had great conversations and saw so much more than “just” street art (and I’m kind of obsessed with street art). Was introduced to the work of @misskk_budapest, @0036mark, @okudart and more who I can now follow and appreciate their art from afar!! We also went to a couple of ruin pubs, a cool bookstore/coffee shop, and he showed me some recommendations for shopping from vintage stores, local artists/makers instead of just mass produced stuff. Would absolutely do another tour with Budapest Flow if I’m lucky enough to return to Budapest. I wish I’d also signed up for the Kolodko mini statue tour as well, but found Attila's blog post on the Kolodko statues incredibly helpful in creating my own mini self-guided tour.

Attila was extremely informative, not only about the art itself but the historical and social significance of each piece as well as the surrounding neighborhood. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and would recommend it to anyone interested in learning more about the Jewish Quarter.
