We welcome you to discover the real flavors, colors, and rhythm of Panama City on our street-food tasting adventure that goes far beyond restaurants.
This is not a sit-down meal—it’s a walking experience through the city’s most authentic neighborhoods, where you’ll taste, learn, and connect with the people behind Panama’s local cuisine.
Start at the Seafood Market with three types of ceviche, then explore San Felipe Neri Market to sample Afro-Caribbean dishes, tropical juices, Geisha coffee, and hot sauces.
Continue along Avenida Central for tamales and a visit to a local bakery. In El Chorrillo, enjoy coconut fish, BBQ chicken, smoked chorizo, and escabeche fish, served in tasting portions.
Optional rum cocktail or juice included. This is a tasting tour, not a full meal.
Please note: This is a tasting tour, not a full meal at each stop. The experience focuses on authentic local life, culture, and connection rather than fine dining.

The tour was AMAZING. You get to visit and learn about parts of the city that other tour guides won't take you to. The hosts were wonderful, pleasant and eager to address any concerns and assist. I would recommend this tour to anyone going to Panama because you'll get the real Panamanian experience. I had a blast!

Jonathon and Elan have put together an excellent tour that takes you into the real Panama. Visiting local food stalls away from Casco Viejo you got a sense of how ordinary people live theirs lives. The tour was very informative without being boring. The food and drink sampled was all lovely and the the attention to detail they was amazing. Even though it was over 4 hours it never felt like it - they were so engaging, passionate and knowledgeable that the time flew by. Would love to do it again if we return. Don't hesitate, just book it.

If you’re visiting Panama City and want an experience that goes beyond the typical tourist attractions, book the Street Food Tour in Panama (20+ Flavors) with Paradox Experience immediately. This was easily one of the most authentic, flavorful, and culturally immersive experiences of my trip. From hidden local gems to bustling neighborhood markets, every stop introduced us to incredible flavors and the real heartbeat of Panama. The food was outstanding, with an amazing variety of traditional dishes, tropical drinks, fresh seafood, Afro-Caribbean flavors, and local specialties that I never would have discovered on my own. Come hungry, because 20+ flavors is no exaggeration! What truly made this experience exceptional, though, was the storytelling and cultural connection. The guides were knowledgeable, personable, and passionate about Panama’s history, people, and traditions. It felt less like a tour and more like being welcomed into the community by friends. I also appreciated that the experience was thoughtfully organized, interactive, and respectful of the local neighborhoods we visited. Every detail felt intentional and authentic. If you love food, culture, meaningful travel experiences, and seeing the “real” side of a destination, this tour is an absolute must. One of the best tours I’ve ever done, anywhere.

Elena, Jonathan, and team were awesome, they went above and beyond. The food was excellent, and I loved being able to go off the beaten path to taste authentic dishes and learn about the culture. Friendly, knowledgeable guides and memorable stops made this the best tour in Panama. Thank you!

Highly recommend this tour. It's not just a food tour but insights into authentic Panamanian lifestyle. Amazing guides! You will be full and maybe a little tipsy by the end of the tour.

It was a well rounded event full of history and good food. The host were extremely mindful of my dietary restrictions and though we were walking it was sanitary

This family‑run food tour was truly something special. You could feel how much they love their culture, their neighborhood, and sharing it with others. Their hospitality was unmatched, warm, genuine, and so down‑to‑earth that it felt like we were being welcomed into someone’s home rather than joining a tour. They took us into their own neighborhood, a part of town that tourists usually don’t frequent, and that made the experience even more meaningful. Everyone we met was so welcoming and accepting, it honestly felt like we were being embraced as part of the community. That sense of belonging made the tour unforgettable and added a level of authenticity you simply can’t get anywhere else. Every stop had incredible food, but what made it truly stand out was the heart behind it. The stories, the pride, the connection to their roots, it all created a cultural experience that went far beyond just tasting dishes. This was hands down my favorite part of our entire trip. Huge shout out to Elena, Johnathan, Luis, and the rest of the family, I’m so sorry I can’t remember everyone’s names, but truly, EVERY single person was amazing. Their kindness, energy, and passion made this tour feel like a celebration of food, family, and community. I just cannot say enough good things about this tour. Please hear me when I say: YOU HAVE TO DO THIS TOUR if you ever visit Panamá. It’s more than a food tour it’s an experience that stays with you long after it’s over. Khim & Terrance

Overall, this was a good tour. There were plenty of samples to try. What other people might need to know is that the middle part of the tour was inside a market that had no air flow and very little seating available. While the tour guides did give us hand fans, they didn't offer any water after we started. We had to ask twice before they offered us a water bottle "we will have drinks soon". Guests - make sure to bring your own water bottles. In addition, this tour ended up being closer to 5 hours long. The last 1-1.5 hours was the best part, though, so my suggestion to Elena and Johnathon would be to cut down on the market part (less talk, less salsa, less standing still) and move on. That being said, we did learn a lot and get to have some great bites. Their passion for food and their communities was highly evident.

This tour kept exceeding my expectations on multiple levels. First, the team not only greets everyone warmly, but connects people with intention—especially those taking the tour solo. That small detail matters and immediately changes the energy of the experience. Next, they are actively making sure you are cared for throughout the tour, whether that means taking photos for you, collecting items after use, or providing a thoughtfully prepared experience packet with all the utensils you may need so you are always prepared to eat. Another thing they do exceptionally well is move you through the experience with care while feeding you information about the food, history, people, and culture of Panamá and the Casco Viejo community. Because of that, you always feel safe, informed, and looked after without even having to think about it. Finally, the team even has a small adjunct crew of the sweetest, most caring littles who occasionally join the tour and somehow make the experience even more fun and memorable. NOW—the food portion of the tour is amazing. The food is FIRE. You will try many different dishes, flavors, and combinations, and without question, you will leave full. Honestly, the value far exceeds the price paid. You will wait and want for nothing. Even with the high temperatures and humidity of the wet season, this was still a very enjoyable way to spend the day. There are even post-tour perks provided at the time of separation, which was another thoughtful touch. 10/10.

Overall, this was a great food tour. Started with super French ceviche at the fish market and ended with street food fried and dancing in the neighborhood with locals. Highlights include the information we learned, lots of great food and drink samples, and being made to feel like a neighbor with street dancing/music. Things to be aware of include the length and comfortability. Tour ended up being about 4.5-5 hours, but the last part was the best part. Also know that while the distance between stops wasn’t long, there was a good amount of time spent standing in the markets with few seats and little to know breeze. I recommend bringing a bottle of water with you - some is included, but didn’t come until later/requested. Even though we had a pretty big group, the guides and handlers were a well functioning team that managed us smoothly. Definitely would recommend this tour, as long as you’re able to stand and sweat for a good amount of time.
