I have been teaching surfing skills in Byron Bay since the 1980s,
I have owned & operated Style Surfing Byron Bay since 1999.
Style Surfing Byron Bay will always operate at Clarkes Beach, Byron Bay.

What To Expect
All you need is swimmers & towel & water bottle. Meeting at the Clarkes Beach Car Park in Byron Bay. 2 Massinger Street. Please Text / WhatsApp Gaz when you book and will let you know the exact location +61416162969. Gaz I will give you a surfboard, wetsuit [if needed] a rash shirt. Sunscreen & Wax. Get on the beach for the Surf Instruction / Surf Safety / Surfing Rules and ocean Awareness. I help U in the surf the whole lesson. U get non stop tips and surf stories in the Surf in between catching waves. If you want the BEST in BYRON, Call me..... if you don't care, call someone else. Hahaha. Happy Days. Gaz

5.00Gaz was amazing !! We took our 5 yr old and he was brilliant with her! She had an incredible time and even managed to stand up and surf which we didn’t expect ! He was great with teaching you the ropes before you even get in the sea and took your safety extremely important Managed to get the grips of how to surf very quickly thanks to Gaz

5.00This is a must when in Byron Bay. Couldn’t recommend Gaz enough. Me and my partner both managed to stand up and surf some waves as beginners. 🏄♂️ He also has the best jokes! Thank you Gaz!

5.00If you’re looking to book a surf lesson, THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO! Had an absolute incredible time out in the sea and Gaz made sure to help us all out so we all managed to catch the waves perfectly. Shall 100% be rebooking so I think that speaks for itself.

5.00Gaz is the best instructor ever!! He made everyone feel so welcomed and he really wanted us to have the best time. Even educated us on how to be safe in the water and made us all so confident even gave us a lift to a nearby restaurant for food

5.00This surfing lesson was the best activity we did in Byron Bay. It was so much fun and Gaz was an absolute legend. I learned so much just in a couple of hours, felt seen during the lesson and had the best time. If you want to get the most authentic surfing lesson this is 100% the lesson to pick. Some of us girls were a bit scared of the ocean and sharks, but Gaz made us feel incredibly comfortable and worked with us. Would recommend this to everyone! Thanks for the experience🏄♀️

5.00The absolute highlight of our trip. My girlfriend wanted to do a lesson so I said I’d come and watch. I wasn’t even meant to be joining in as I have a big fear of water and the ocean but Gaz somehow convinced me to give it a go and for some reason, I trusted him. 3hrs later and I’ve just had the best experience and the most fun in the ocean ever. Gaz doesn’t just teach you, he cares so much about seeing you improve and believes in you like no one else. I’ll be forever grateful for his encouragement in getting me out there and giving me the tools to start having more confidence in the water. Also, I’ve never met a guy with so many one-liners. Definitely makes for a very entertaining morning! 🤣 Next time I visit let’s go for a surf then a round of golf, Gaz.

5.00Excellent surf session for my 13 year old son, "27 stars!" The energy and positivity was contagious and many life and surf lessons beyond the basics were covered on this most perfect beach in Byron Bay.

5.00Enjoyed the intro with Gaz and Guy. Got helpful tips that I have not heard before from other instructors. Unfortunately, weather conditions did not make it safe for us to surf. However, Gaz kindly offered lessons the day(s) after or even a refund. Would book lessons again, when I am back in Byron Bay.

5.00Had a great time with Gaz and the team who have so much patience and talk you through every single thing you’d ever need to know about surfing. Before we entered the water, we were informed of different currents and other things in the area which helped put us at ease! 10/10 would recommend!!
