The Zambezi Sunset cruise is a superb way to relax and enjoy the Spectacular beauty of the Zambezi River. There are great photo opportunities against often-spectacular African sunsets. Flocks of birds skim the waterline as the sun sets behind the African skyline. Clients may have the opportunity to see a variety of game; including hippo, crocodile, and elephant as well as enjoy the many different bird species. The Sunset cruise is very popular and includes finger snacks, beer, wine, local spirits and soft drinks.

We were very disappointed by our Zambezi River sundowner cruise experience with this company. Firstly, the tour operator picked us up 30 minutes earlier than he had communicated he would, so we had to rush to get ready as we had just gotten out of the shower. Next, we arrive to the boat and all the cushions are soaking wet and the floor was flooded. Zimbabwe has a rainy season every year, so they should have been prepared for rainy weather. Lastly, the food was cold and the alcohol they had available was all very cheap looking. We do NOT recommend this tour company.

A sunset cruise on board the Zambezi Royal with Wild Horizons for us, was a mesmerising and unforgettable experience, that we would return for again and again!! A superb way to relax and enjoy the spectacular beauty of the Zambezi River, I've said this many times but we never come to the Falls without doing one. Wild Horizons promised finger snacks. What we got however, was an abundance of delicious, freshly made and beautifully plated goodies that seemed like they were never going to stop coming through to the table during the cruise. From the homemade potato crisps, biltong, dried mango and cheese straws, Caprese Salad kebabs (with a basil oil dressing), Spinach and Feta Spring rolls, Lemon Garlic Prawns, Coconut Crumbed Fish, Mini Mushroom Wellingtons in a puff pastry, Chimichurri Beef Kebabs, finished off with Profiteroles with a blueberry cream filling.. ..These were not just any finger snacks. Stepping into Masterchef, the Zambezi River edition. We simply had to try EVERYTHING, and did!

One of the perks of the Approach group we are on was a cruise on the Zambezi River. All beverages were included and with the relaxing pace we were able to spot wildlife along the shore. One grisly sight was Nile crocodiles feeding on an elephant.

Booked a sunset cruise with Wild Horizons. Thought I was getting the Zambezi. Instead, I got the car park at my hotel. They didn’t show up. Called five minutes after the pickup time – “oh yeah, we’ll send a driver.” Forty-five minutes later, still standing there like a lemon. Called again. Their solution? “Come on a breakfast cruise tomorrow.” Brilliant. Nothing says “romantic African sunset” like cold eggs and instant coffee at 8 a.m. Told them I wouldn’t. Asked for a refund. Had to remind them reception was closing in ten minutes, otherwise I’d have been stood there arguing with a locked door. Emailed afterwards, said I might forgive the shambles if they refunded and rebooked for another date. They ghosted me for two days. I’ve had better communication from dead relatives. So, if you fancy paying for a cruise and instead experiencing the unique thrill of waiting around in shorts while the mosquitoes eat you alive, this is the outfit for you.

We started our holiday with a Sundowner Cruise on the Zambezi River and it was spectacular! Such a great way to kick off the adventure. Good food, friendly hosts and lots of hippos!

Zambezi sunset cruise was absolutely breathtaking — golden skies, calm waters, and the soothing sounds of nature all around. A truly unforgettable African moment.

The sundowner cruise was absolutely beautiful — peaceful, scenic, and the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring. Watching the sunset over the Zambezi River with a drink in hand was pure magic. The boat was comfortable, the vibe was mellow, and the crew was friendly and attentive. It was such a relaxing experience and definitely one of the highlights of the trip.

Peaceful evening on the boat. Met some lovely people and saw so many hippos and birds. Sunset was beautiful. Only criticism is you could offer drinks more frequently as we had to keep asking for a top up and we requested veggie food but got served meat.
