Fantastic! But that last 400meters is NO JOKE! When Vick said it was very hard, he was telling the Truth! Everything about it was WORTH IT!!

Wandering off in the dark down a very rough trail with a stranger at 4 in the morning was a little intimidating but Victor got us to the top! The sunrise was a bit cloudy but there some cool moments.

The sunrise and view were the highlight of our trip. Words and pictures can’t do it justice. The only reason I’m not giving the experience a 5 is because our tour guide was ill at the last minute and it was confusing to figure out which van and tour guide to go with. Would still recommend!

This was such an amazing experience! Yes, it did require us to wake up at 2:30 AM to make sure we get from Pana to San Pedro on time, but Vick was AMAZING and helped us coordinate a private boat at 3:30 AM! He was such an amazing tour guide, explaining the meaning behind the name and why the mountain is important in the Mayan culture. The sunrise definitely makes up for waking up early and the tiring hike. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone spending time in Lake Atitlan.

Thanks to his shortcuts and insider routes, we were the first ones to arrive at the summit, securing the most peaceful, uncrowded view of the sunrise — and wow, was it worth it. Watching the sky ignite above the lake and surrounding volcanoes in quiet awe was a moment I’ll never forget. At the top, Victor surprised us with free coffee and a light breakfast, which was both thoughtful and much appreciated after the early morning climb. His picture-taking skills were top-notch too — we walked away with some truly breathtaking photos that captured the magic of the moment. But beyond the logistics and scenery, what really stood out was Victor’s kindness and genuine love for his culture and community. He made us feel embraced and welcomed, like we weren’t just tourists, but part of something more meaningful. He took the time to share stories about the history of Lake Atitlán, the indigenous traditions of the area, and even the small details of daily life in the villages below. Victor goes above and beyond to ensure that every detail is covered and that you walk away with not only incredible memories but a deeper connection to the place and its people.
