Breathtaking Views & a Truly Heartfelt Experience – Sunrise Hike with Victor is a Must! If you’re planning to hike Indian’s Nose at Lake Atitlán, there is no better guide than Victor. This tour was the perfect blend of stunning natural beauty, local history, and heartfelt hospitality — all made possible by Victor’s warmth, knowledge, and incredible dedication to creating an unforgettable experience. From the very beginning, Victor’s communication was prompt, clear, and incredibly helpful. He coordinated pickup times with flexibility and patience, even adjusting the schedule to fit our needs. On the day of the hike, everything was seamless — we felt completely taken care of. Victor’s deep connection to the land and his expert local knowledge made a huge difference. Thanks to his shortcuts and insider routes, we were the first ones to arrive at the summit, securing the most peaceful, uncrowded view of the sunrise — and wow, was it worth it. Watching the sky ignite above the lake and surrounding volcanoes in quiet awe was a moment I’ll never forget. At the top, Victor surprised us with free coffee and a light breakfast, which was both thoughtful and much appreciated after the early morning climb. His picture-taking skills were top-notch too — we walked away with some truly breathtaking photos that captured the magic of the moment. But beyond the logistics and scenery, what really stood out was Victor’s kindness and genuine love for his culture and community. He made us feel embraced and welcomed, like we weren’t just tourists, but part of something more meaningful. He took the time to share stories about the history of Lake Atitlán, the indigenous traditions of the area, and even the small details of daily life in the villages below. Victor goes above and beyond to ensure that every detail is covered and that you walk away with not only incredible memories but a deeper connection to the place and its people. If you want the real, soulful Lake Atitlán sunrise experience — book with Victor. We’re so grateful for him and can’t recommend this hike enough!

  • Worth it! But some things you should know

Headline: the hike is completely worth it and so beautiful at the top that it’s a must do. However, there are some things to keep in mind that informed why I took 2 stars off. First, logistically, we didn’t have the best or most proactive communication experience with the company prior to. We stayed in Panajachel and I listed that when I checked out but wasn’t reached out to ahead of time to coordinate the alternate pickup that is mentioned here. We reached out the night before when we heard nothing and then wasn’t told that the $25pp fee wasn’t roundtrip. Again, we would’ve done the tour anyway, but it’s important to note that if you’re not in San Pedro or San Juan, you’ll have to pay extra both ways. Easy fix if there is an email or stock message to go out. Second, the guide wasn’t very helpful or mindful of various fitness levels in the group. I’m fairly active and I still found the 40-45 min hike up to be challenging because it’s very steep. We had an older woman in our group and the guide didn’t check on us much at all (it felt amount like there’s a race to the top between groups?) and some of us ended up dropping and staying with other guides who exercised a bit more care and implemented rest breaks going up. I’d also recommend speaking a bit of Spanish since not all guides speak English. So again, WORTH IT. Just helpful to know all the parts of the experience going in so you can plan accordingly.

This tour was amazing! Sunrise on Indian Nose is so worth it. The hike takes about 40 minutes and can feel a little steep/rushed but it’s quick and so worth the views. Vic was sick the day I went, but his friend Fransisco filled in and he was a wonderful guide. We got picked up 5 min from our hotel and were able to ask for headlamps, although they didn’t have enough for everyone (one per group) so I’d still advise bringing your own if you can

  • Beautiful sunrise hike

Originally we had to walk up the street from our stay to meet Victor at 4 am bc of road work but at the end Victor was able to pick us up right in front of our stay. He provided me and my one friend headlamps as my other 2 friends had their own. Once the van dropped us off at the start location, it was easy to follow Victor. Two of my friends speak only Enlgish and he was able to communicate with them information about things they had questions about. When you get to the top of the Mayan face, a woman and man pass out hot chocolate or coffee and someone else comes around with bread if you want. Beautiful view of the sunrise! Victor takes pictures of you if you want. After, you get transported back to where you were picked up. Overall, if you have the chance, I would recommend this hike with Victor!

A great tour! Joel, the guide, was so friendly and inclusive. He made sure the hiking pace was appropriate for everyone. The sunrise spot was gorgeous! The coffee and hot chocolate at the top were a bonus.
