Pidurangala rock is the rock where you can see beautiful view and sunrises and sunset (You like to see sunrise in pidurangala rock we have to start 4.30a.m. if you like to see sunset sigiri Rock or pidurangala rock we will be there before 4pm) 1 hour SIGIRIYA VS PIDURANGALA So, for the perennial debate on whether to do Sigiriya or Pidurangala, I can only offer my opinion having done Pidurangala which might make me slightly bias. However, I believe that if you are a backpacker, or are hiking for the view, Pidurangala is the clear winner in that sense it offers more value. If you have the money, wish to checklist an attraction or to appreciate more of the historical citadel of Sigirya, by all means spend that 30 USD because Pidurangala does not have much of a cultural or historical element to it. Pidurangala seems to be there purely to function as a beautiful vantage point to capture Sigiriya

5.00We had a wonderful day with Saman. He is a very attentive friendly driver who took us to Sigiriya Rock and then showed us some photoworthy spots around the area before bringing us to Pidurangala rock in time for sunset. There's spectacular views from both rocks and although Sigiriya Rock is quite expensive I'd recommend to go up there as well as on Pidurangala Rock, because only then you can apprechiate how steep and impossible to climb Sigiriya Rock looks. Thanks Saman for your experience and for driving us around that day!
