3.00Starting with the good news: Our communication before pickup through WhatsApp was excellent, and Kelvin, our host, was friendly and helpful. The convenience of hotel pickup and drop-off added value to the experience. Given the late search and availability of tours, our group would likely have chosen this tour again. Now for the not-so-good news: While the title accurately describes the tour as a boat trip, the term “luxury” is misleading. The luxury aspect seems limited to the name plaque on the boat rather than the actual experience, even though the boat was clean and spacious enough for our group. The journey from the pier to the buffet site took about 20 minutes, with the sun setting as we traveled. Upon arrival, it felt reminiscent of the TV show “Fantasy Island,” but unfortunately, there was no greeting from Mr. Roark or Tattoo. The short 5-minute walk from the dock to the buffet site revealed that the venue, locally advertised as a tourist village, offered an outdoor buffet with picnic tables. The food variety was excellent, but it seemed more tailored to local tastes than to tourists. Additionally, the description promising one free cocktail or mocktail turned out to be incorrect. We were informed that this offer applied to a different tour option, not available to us. Despite these hiccups, we appreciated the last-minute planning convenience and overall experience Viator provided. However, our wallets are a bit lighter, and the tour didn’t fully meet our expectations.
