Join one of our guides on a trip down Japans finest water quality river, the Niyodo river, on a SUP tour. On the tour you will learn the techniques for River SUP which differs from ocean or lake techniques.If you look around you will see the magnificent mountains and scenery, and on a sunny day the famous Niyodo Blue can be witnessed!
Beginner friendly with professional instruction.
Beginners will be taught the foundation skills so you can enjoy your time on the river! Instruction will take place in gentle parts of the river where you can master the basic movements, even first timers can enjoy SUP! Enjoy the feel of the wind over your body and enjoy experiencing nature how you want!

What To Expect
Stand Up Paddling tours down the rivers of Shikoku Japan with a focus on learning river SUP techniques in a safe and fun environment. All required equipment is provided as part of the tour including protective wear, board, paddle, helmet, life vest and leash cord. Transport is provided to the start point and finish point of the tour from the meeting point.

5.00This was the best experience on our trip. We had so much fun. The guide was so kind and friendly and great at teaching us beginners. We also visited the waterfalls. This was 10/10 and a must do if you're in Kochi.

5.00Highly recommend Randy and his SUP tour! So fun paddling down the river. He was a great guide and his assistant was really friendly and helpful! The river was gorgeous and so relaxing. It was a hot day and this was the perfect tour! Highly recommend!

5.00Stand-up paddleboarding was easily one of the best experiences in our trip to Japan. Even in the rain, the experience was incredibly peaceful and scenic. On the route, there were so many beautiful rocks, a rope swing, and misty mountains. The owner of the shop was amazing; he was very welcoming and went above and beyond to make our experience special. Even with the rain, he brought us hot tea to enjoy while and went out of his way to take so many photos and videos of us. All of the equipment was also well maintained and felt brand new. If you are visiting Kochi, this place is a must-visit. It's a beautiful and calming way to connect with nature, and the hospitality made it unforgettable.

5.00Hiro is a hero! I had a fantastic day tour and this was a shore excursion from the cruise terminal in Kochi. Hiro was patient in teaching this beginner at the SUP experience. I was successful in the first exercises, and I ended up standing up on the paddleboard successfully floating through the river currents. What a blast! The one activity itself would have been perfect, but wait....there's more. We ventured out to Nakatsukeikoku Park which boasts rock formations dating bak 300 million years. Really gorgeous hike to a waterfall and "Indiana Jones" pathways. So much fun. Well lastly, we chose to get some lunch rather than bathing in the Japanese hot spring. Smart move! We went to a very local fish restaurant where the husband cooked the Bonita on a can filled with straw, charring the fish. Yum. Hiro was very responsive, and this was one fun day!
DONT miss this activity.

5.00Totally fantastic morning on the water. Absolutely beautiful. The guide is super friendly, speaks great English, and is very accommodating. He takes a ton of photos for you as well, so no need to worry about bringing your phone onto the water. He'll pick you up from the nearby train station if you aren't planning on having a car. Was great for beginners (like me) but I think you can do more advanced stuff if you ask. He also has sunscreen if you need it (you will). Lastly, he recommended a great spot for lunch and an onsen after that, and both were great as well.

5.00An amazing 3 hr adventure down the river. Weather was fantastic. The owner and guide , Rangi, was very welcoming and knowledgeable and has a lifetime of experience of water sports . He was totally beginner friendly and taught us basic skills very quickly. We were given all equipment and at the end of the trip ,facilities for a shower . Photos and videos of the trip were also included. Highly recommended.

5.00We had a superb day with Rangi on the Nyodo river yesterday. We are a family of four and my daughter (who’s 12) was quite nervous but our host stayed with her, reassuring her all the way. His instructions were faultless, delivered in a friendly, relaxed manner. He took wonderful pictures and videos to remind us of what was certainly the best experience of our two-week holiday in Japan. I cannot recommend this activity highly enough. If you’re visiting Kochi…do it!
