All Catman Surf School lessons start on the sand with ocean awareness and safety. We’ll go over the basics on how to position yourself on the board, paddling, and how to pop up. Afterwards, we’ll transition to the surf, followed by your first go at small white water waves. Your safety always come first, and Sergio will be by your side every step of the way. Once in the water, he’ll show you how to read the waves, position your take off, and the etiquette of wave riding. His private lessons are built to make your adventure on the waves one to remember. What To Expect
Sergio “Cat” Reyes – Hernandez • National Surf Champion • Baja Sur Official Surf Competition Judge • Certified in Aquatic Rescue • Certified Surf Instructor CATMAN SURF SCHOOL, will help you establish a solid foundation early on, so you don’t develop bad habits in your surf technique & form. This training will stay with you forever and guide you as you progress in your journey. Remember, that a huge part surfing involves understanding ocean safety, tides, ocean swells, and surfing etiquette; all of which you will learn as well!
What‘s Included
INCLUDES: Soft Top Surfboard, Leash, Umbrella for shade.
Men bring rashguard, board shorts. Women bring sport top, sport bottoms, or 1 pc swim suit. Water shoes recommended (available at store) Good Sunblock & Beach Towel

5.00My teen/tween kids took this class. It was great! They were pushed to learn some skills. Something they can keep using on other trips! We went to a different coast and they were able to get up on the board.

5.00Sergio was patient, friendly and simple in his directions. We were grateful to have spent the time talking about life after we surfed. A true blessing. What an experience being in the presence of a beautiful beach, scenic wave break and we got to see a whale right off the shore. Highly recommended for any skill level.

5.00Sergio is a fantastic teacher. He made me feel 110% safe and i would recommend to anyone looking to learn how to surf in los cabos. Im not new to surfing but definitely have a lot more to learn. Sergio “Gato” helped me learn a lot during my session with him. Super knowledgeable and very helpful!

5.00My two boys aged 20 and 22 took a lesson with Sergio and had a wonderful time. They loved his stories about the competitions he has competed in and his easy, friendly way of coaching them. They had a great time catching waves on Costa Azul which is the perfect spot for beginning to intermediate surfers. They both loved the experience. We highly recommend this adventure!

5.00We loved this experience, even if we were terrible and a bit terrified! Sergio reached out directly to me right away with information and pictures which were really helpful to know we were in the right place. Our instructor was someone else (Sergio had an injury) but Sergio still introduced us and made us feel welcome and reassured. He was kind when we wanted to quit a bit early (we are quite active and it was still so exhausting!) but we made sure they knew that we loved it. The water is chilly-ish and has a lot of rocks; water shoes made a huge difference! Zippys Bar, right where the surfing is, was a welcome break after all the hard work and even had live music. If you have an open mind, know how hard it will be, and can laugh about the likely falls, you’ll have so much fun! Highly, highly recommend!

5.00Sergio was great! He confirmed our arrival time, he met us at the beach, and made the lesson go smoothly. He was consistent with his follow ups to ensure that we had all the info we needed before arrival. The surf lesson was perfect, and the waves were fun. We had a blast!
