Learn to surf with a real surfer, all instructors certified by the international surfing association ISA, will make your learning easy and safe. Our surfing instructors are there to make it fun, safe and easy for people of all age groups and levels of fitness. If you're an intermediate we have another options as casitas, where the waves have more potential to practice turns and tricks.

What To Expect
Your lesson includes all the equipment - surfboard, rash guard and instructor. Your lesson will take place on the Tamarindo main beach or Capitan Suizo depending on the wave size. Both places the sand bottom is safe and perfect for beginner lessons. Your lesson consists in the first 20 minutes on the beach, covering board design and dynamics, wave dynamics, ocean safety, surfing safety, surf etiquette, pop-up technique and form. The remainder of your time is spent in the water, surfing with your instructor. Just show up wearing your swim suit, sun screen, and a smile. We'll supply the equipment and good vibes.

5.00Me and my family took a group surf lesson and it was awesome. Cesar is a very knowledgeable surf coach and also a really nice person. We learned a lot and had so much fun. Tamarindo is a beautiful beach as well. Recommended!

5.00My girlfriend and I took a lesson with Cesar at True Surf. He is an amazing coach, he was super patient, attentive to detail and got the best out of us on the water. I saw many other instructors on the water trying to correct their students form while popping up onto a wave, and I couldn’t imagine being guided like that. Cesar let’s you ride the wave and only after you are back to him will he both compliment what you did right, but also tell you what you could have done better or exactly where you went wrong in your pop up, or your execution while riding a wave. If you are trying to decide who to get surf lessons from, he is the guy to go with. Thank you Cesar !!!

5.00Cesar was an amazing instructor. He's obviously very knowledgeable but more importantly he knew how to explain what needed to be understood. Everyone had an awesome time as they were all able to get up on their boards almost right away (my 10 year old got up on his first try!!). I'll definitely try and book Cesar next time we're around Costa Rica.
