Beyond being beautifully crafted and attractive, Swedish design tends to be practical in nature. Design pieces usually serve as building blocks that can be mixed and matched with other design elements to constantly expand on collections, therefore implementing early on in the process another vital part in our design culture – sustainability! On this tour we explore all the above elements while giving you a hands on introduction into the brands and designers that have put Sweden on the international map. From the well know and common of IKEA, Volvo, H&M and Fjällräven to the aesthetic of Svenskt Tenn, Bruno Mathsson, Carl Malmsten, Kosta Boda and Orrefors we take you through an immersive experience of what Swedish design truly is. Minimalist and functional yet stylish and innovative, our designs are often seen worldwide as always trendy under the “less is more” mantra and this tour takes you through the best, finest and most Swedish-y design stores that Stockholm has to offer!

In Sweden, design is synonymous with ‘lifestyle’ and there are certain characteristics that set Swedish design apart. One is environmentally friendly production, which has a long tradition in Sweden. Transparency is another (for products as well as production) and we constantly pride ourselves in being open about how we go about producing world-class products. This tour gives you an insight into all of that!

I adore the guide for this experience who led a food tour on my September 2024 visit to Stockholm. He has an in-depth knowledge of Swedish design and is an absolute pleasure of a person. I left Stockholm with many ideas for updating my home interiors!

Total loss. I arrive early to the specified meeting spot. 40 minutes prior to the start of the tour, I received a call, telling me to meet at a different location about a mile away. I walked to the art new location, an art museum and met the guide. I was the only member of the tour. He told me that the museum really didn’t have very much of interest regarding Swedish design. He then walked us back to what was the original meeting location. On the way, we encountered his mother. She joined us. The guy told me that he had some notes prepared but if I just wanted to go shopping, I could do that. We walked into a museum/store to review some examples of an early design group. The guide repeated that we could just go shopping. I decided to leave. I think I paid over $100, to waste my time. I’m not sure what the intention was, but the end result was definitely not anything like a tour.

That was the very first guided tour of Dimitri. To begin we headed to the Modern museum (closed) and to the Architecture Center (closed as well). We walked back to our initial meeting point, listening to the guide reading from wikipedia from his phone screen. AlthoughDimitri was niceand showed good will, he wasn’t ’ professional and did not prepare his homework, big disappointment as it was an expensive tour, and we had little time in Stockholm.

For a city modelled on Paris, there’s not enough information other than doing this tour. Great way to expose oneself to Swedish design & architecture

I had so much fun on this tour! The guide was really knowledgable about Stockholm's architecture, design and fashion history and we explored so many parts of the city I didn't have time to explore myself. I highly recommend this tour for someone hoping to learn about design in this beautiful city.

I really enjoyed the pilot design tour with Victoria! We made several shop visits to get a good overview of iconic Swedish product design elements, as well as took in the city's awesome landmark buildings and architecture. I recommend suggesting your personal interests at the outset to maximize the tour schedule!
