Szentendre
Szentendre is a historic town with cobblestone streets, Baroque architecture, and a lively art scene. Settled by various peoples over the centuries, it became an important center for Serbian refugees in the 17th century, who left behind a distinctive Orthodox heritage. Today, its museums, galleries, and Danube River promenade make it a favorite destination for visitors interested in culture and history.

My husband and I absolutely loved this tour! All 3 stops were different but excellent. Tamas is very knowledgeable about the history and events in Estergom and Viesgrad castle as well as Hungarian history. Gave us great commentary at all 3 stops and also let us roam a bit on our own. Tamas also gave us entertaining history lessons on the drive to first stop, was very safe and friendly guide for the day. Drinks and snacks were provided and we had options on where and when to have lunch. Overall, a great way to spend a day outside the city!

We had a fantastic day tour with Tamas learning and visiting the Danube Bend Area. Tamas was engaging and very knowledgeable about all areas of our tour: historical facts; topography/ecology and ethnographic details. We could not have been more pleased with what we got out of our day and the hospitality Tamas showed us. If you have a chance to tour with him, we would highly recommend it!

Our Danube Bend day tour with Tamás was an exceptional experience from start to finish. He was incredibly knowledgeable and shared fascinating insights about the history of Hungary and the surrounding region as we drove through the beautiful countryside. One of the highlights was getting to try a variety of local snacks he provided along the way. Everything was absolutely delicious and added a special, authentic touch to the experience. All three stops on the tour were fantastic, each offering something unique and memorable. Tamás made the entire day enjoyable, engaging, and seamless. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to explore beyond Budapest and gain a deeper appreciation for Hungary!

The Danube Bend tour was truly a highlight of the trip. The experience struck a rare balance between rich historical insight and genuine enjoyment, bringing the region’s past to life in a way that felt both engaging and accessible. The tour guide was exceptional—knowledgeable, personable, and effortlessly attentive—making the day feel seamless and relaxed throughout. There was a natural flexibility to the itinerary that allowed us to explore at a comfortable pace, which only added to the overall ease and enjoyment. It was, in every sense, a memorable and thoughtfully curated experience.

Wow, this was one of the best tours we have ever been on. My family loves to travel and have done probably 6-7 similar style tours in various different countries. What stood out with this day trip was the guide. Tamas is fabulous. He was constantly asking how we were doing, he brought snacks, cold/hot drinks in the van. He is extremely knowledgeable, set a great pace for the day. He paid for our bathrooms, bought my children chocolate. We really couldn't have asked for a better day. Hi highly recommend this trip.

I spent many hours researching things to do in Budapest. I came across the private Danube bend tour with Tamas and read all of the incredible reviews. I was very excited and immediately booked the tour for myself and my husband. We had very high expectations and I’m happy to say that Tamas far exceeded them. From our 1st class van, to the delicious drinks and snacks provided through out the day, to the extensive knowledge and friendly demeanor Tamas provided, this tour absolutely can’t be missed. The Danube bend is stunning and our personalized tour with Tamas was more than we could have hoped for. I can’t recommend this enough. It’s absolutely worth every penny. We also discovered that Tamas has other tours available and are looking forward to booking one of those, as well.

Fantastic day. Tamas our guide and driver for the day was brilliant. His history on Hungary was mesmerising. Visegrad castle has lots of steps but well worth it for the views. Szentendre is a gorgeous place, with a Marzipan museum, colourful umbrellas adorn one of the streets. Esztergom Basilica is amazing Would highly recommend this tour for the history and beauty Thank you Tamas

Our tour guide, Sophia, was absolutely wonderful. She genuinely seemed to enjoy sharing Hungary with us, and her enthusiasm made the day even better. She was cheerful, informative, and gave us plenty of time at each stop without ever making us feel rushed. We loved the itinerary and all the sites we visited. It was a fantastic day overall, and we would definitely recommend this tour to anyone wanting to explore beyond the city. The transportation was also very comfortable.
