This day trip is guaranteed to make your stay in the island unforgettable. This tour has adrenaline and adventure, history and archeology, beautiful scenery and beaches. The drive to Arecibo is About an hour and it is beautiful from start to finish. We arrive and begin our hike to the cave of the Taino. Bring good shoes as the hike is quite rocky. The entrance to the cave is not for claustrophobic people. it is bit challenging but with our careful instructions you will be able to get inside (barring any physical conditions that hinder you). The cave is other worldly. You get transported to the past as you see the over 100 carvings in the stone that are hundreds, maybe thousands, of years old. After we exit the cave we will hike through the famous 7 arches of Arecibo. The arches are natural rock formations which can be appreciated in pictures, but only in person will you realize how beautiful it all really is. Last we visit a non-touristy beach that is amazing!

Cueva Del Indio
Get ready for the most unique experience in your life! First we meet up in Condado. From there you ride with us. The drive is about an hour and takes us to the heart of Arecibo. Arecibo is one of the cities with the richest historical legacies in all of Puerto Rico. The drive itself is very beautiful, but our first destination is absolutely breathtaking. When we get there we will do a short hike (wear good sneakers) to the mouth of the cave! Keep your cameras handy because the views are out of this world. The cave of the Taino Indian is a small cave system that is a historical and archeological wonderland! This cave is literally covered in Taino stone carvings. It is breathtaking and the scenery even more so! After we exit the cave, we make our way to the 7 arches to take in the amazing views. After another short hike back to the car, we head out to a beautiful beach in Arecibo as well. This tour will give you a taste of the Caribbean lifestyle/history/culture.

Edward gave us the best tour I’ve had in my life!!! I didn’t believe I could do some things and he pushed me out of my comfort zone and gave me confidence to go further than I ever thought I was able to. This was a work out and you have to be in good condition but the views are insane and his history lesson of the island was so interesting and I learned so much. After, he took us to a bbq place where we got to try some amazing pr food then we ended up at La POZA. One of the best days of my life. This tour is for the adventurers!

Do not second guess booking this tour like I did. You will not regret going! Edward went above and beyond, greatest tour guide you could ever ask for- you have to experience it for yourself. As long as you follow directions, you are completely capable of completing this tour no problem. And you have Edward there cheering you on. It’s perfect for solo travelers or groups. Amazing views, food, conversation, and the beach was the icing on the cake.

We had a fantastic day with Edward! He shared alot of history of Puerto Rico as well as the Taino people. The caves and ocean views were amazing! Some of the cave exploration was challenging, But Edward's knowledge, patience, and great instructions made us feel very safe. Not sure we would have been able to find or navigate some of the beautiful parts of the cave if we were on our own. We loved experiencing authentic Puerto Rican food! At the end of the day, we felt like we had been on a tour with a distant relative and now a new friend!

While this is an amazing place to visit, I think Viator should be a little more honest and upfront in the description of the "tour". We very much enjoyed our day and we are very happy that we went., but we were a little surprised and taken aback when our guide showed up in his personal vehicle to drive us and another couple around in his car. This place is open to the public and a guide is not required but without one, you would not only not learn any history of the area, but I honestly do not know how you would navigate getting in and out of the cave opening without the instruction of a guide. My husband and I are in our mid 50's and somewhat fit and it was extremely difficult. Without our guide showing us exactly where to place our feet and where to grip with our hands, we never would have made it. There were several other people at the site that were in their 20's that he assisted as well because they were really struggling. I am very glad we did it. It was beautiful and amazing and the history lesson was great, and with guidance, it can be done! Other than that, the description says that you take "a beautiful scenic one hour drive". It is none of those things. It is just a drive. And we only had one hour at a beach afterwards. There was nothing special about the beach that we went to. I would have rather spent half the money and met at the caves. I'm not saying you shouldn't go because it was very cool. Just trying to give you the full picture.

The views and Roy, our guide, were wonderful. The beach was great, too. However, forget the cave with Taino carvings! To get into the cave was impossible for many of us--you had to scrabble up some rockface, with nothing to grasp. Roy tried to help us (safely), but it is impossible to haul up an adult of 140 or 150 pounds! I was told the interior of the cave was extremely difficult, too. As a result, many of us never got inside the cave nor saw the Taino carvings. I blame Viator for not accurately describing this tour, which I might not have taken had I known how difficult it would be, and my rating would have been 1. However, Roy (and the scenery and the beach stop) increased my rating to 4.

This may be one of the most diverse and enjoyable tour on the island. You can see the mountain side, coast line, caves, ancient history, and a great tour guide who is passionate about giving from the heart and paying it forward

We had such an amazing day. We learned a ton about Puerto Rican history from our guide Fabiola. And we experienced some of the most breathtaking views from the island. The hike was challenging at times but the reward of exploring the caves was 100% worth it.
