Taipei 101 was amazing! But we could have bought tickets there ourselves at the counter. We did not have a tour guide to explain to us from Viator.

Well worth a visit to the top. The view is breathtaking but the best is being in one of the fastest elevators in the world. You marvel at the brilliance of Taiwanese people. It’s was worth skipping the queue.

In order to activate your ticket, you go to the reservation desk and show them a QR code that you got in your confirmation email. I don't know why but that QR code was nearly impossible to open. I tried opening the ticket in the app, from the email, from safari on my phone and nothing would work. I finally got it to work through chrome on my phone, but it took over 10 minutes. After you get the QR code everything is easy and straightforward. You get to skip the long line. I had booked our tickets for a different day, but had lunch at Din Tai Fung in the basement of 101 so figured I'd try to use them. They were very easy with rescheduling and letting me use my ticket earlier than booked. Our tickets took us to the main observatory, 89th floor. I think you can pay more to go to the 101 floor, but I didn't bother. Tickets at 101 cost NT$600 so this was about equivalent.

We were on msc lyric from 3 to 10 January beautiful ship we stayed in the suite, in the cabin number 10060 and 10021 and the restaurant hippocampus where we had a very kind waiter named Marco (nn I know if you will see this fence but we are the losi😁) beautiful excursions and the theater c were very good dancers, I'm a little sorry for the 2 days of navigation where the sea was stormy but the rest perfect!! The meal also very good and plentiful especially pizza and hamburgers😋🍕🍔 thank you so much for the experience🥰 I in all I did 2 cruises , this and Tuscan coast all 2 beautiful made me a lot of compliments for the clothes of the gala evening in the lyrical msc cruise

This was a fast-pass ticket to the observatory, which has great views of the entire city. It was good that I could use the pass on any date within a year, which turned out to be necessary since it was raining frequently when I was in Taipei so I could choose to go when the skies had cleared a bit. Another thing to keep in mind is that during low tourist season you probably don't need a fast pass and all and the regular (cheaper) entry would be fine. When I went in October there was hardly anyone there, so it wasn't that necessary. In higher peak times it would probably be good through.

When I tried to get the Viator barcode changed to the entrance tickets at the 101 Taipei counter, they wouldn’t take the barcode that Viator provided. They said it’s not valid. I had to purchase a whole new ticket at the location. So highly suggest going through Taipei’s online ticketing system to purchase the tickets instead if going through Viator or another 3rd party !

Purchased our tickets in advance for a day shore excursion on our own. Friendly staff greeted us and helped us with our priority access. Lift up was interesting and we enjoyed the venue and seasonal decorations. It was a rainy day but we could still make out some of the viewpoints around us. Nice gift shop up top and down below where we bought a few nice items. Enjoyed the shopping at the attached mall:

We followed all the instructions carefully, but the barcode provided in the Viator voucher never worked. When we tried to redeem our ticket, the machine wouldn’t read the barcode and kept asking for a QR code instead. I contacted Viator’s customer service immediately, but they couldn’t provide the correct QR code or offer any real-time solution. Basically, Viator gave us a non-working—or possibly fake—voucher. Talk about inconvenience when you’re expecting convenience by securing tickets in advance! Their customer service told me they would contact the operator and issue a refund within 24–72 hours. Since I can’t rely solely on their word, I made sure the phone conversation was recorded. In the end, we had to buy new tickets on the spot directly from Tapei 101.
