Love love the food selection, was so full. Very good cp. Julie was great, very descriptive and even show us to a speakeasy.

I love food tours, but this one fell a little short for me. It’s helpful to know that the experience focuses heavily on street food—especially fried options—so if that’s your thing, you’ll likely enjoy it. Our host was pleasant, though at times it felt a little harder to connect, which may have just come down to different styles. Taiwan has such an incredible and diverse food scene, and while this tour gives you a taste of street food culture, I’m not sure it fully captures the variety the local cuisine has to offer. If you’re not a big fan of fried foods, this might be one to skip.

Great introduction to Taipei’s street food scene around Yongkang St in Da’an. Julie was an excellent guide, knowledgeable, easygoing, and kept the group moving at a good pace. Small group of eight made it easy to walk, chat, and actually enjoy the food without feeling rushed or crowded. Well worth doing early in your trip to get your bearings and confidence with local food.

Skyler was an awesome host! Very friendly and knowledgeable. Would recommend to others! I noticed someone else make this comment about the meetup location in another review and want to add to that. If you rely solely on the Google Maps link they attach in the “meeting and pickup” section, it will take you across the street to a bar that is closed down. Probably should be updated by the tour guides.

Skyler was an energetic host with great historical facts and good knowledge of the Taiwan food scene. We made several yummy stops and definitely had more food than you can really eat, I squirreled away leftovers in my bag for later! It was a good group of about 8 or 9, so not too big. We even had a short shopping break! I always do a food tour in a new country and recommend for folks who want to get the lay of the land in Taiwan!

Skyler was a great guide. She made sure we did not leave hungry and took some leftovers home with us! She is very knowledgeable about Taiwan and the meals we ate. If you want a good food tour I recommend this booking and request her.

Our Secret Food Tour guide, Skyler, was awesome — very friendly, enthusiastic, and incredibly knowledgeable about the foods in Taipei. She clearly has a passion for showing people around the city and introducing them to hidden food spots. Skyler really interacted with us, took the time to understand our favorite foods, and asked what we hoped to get out of the tour. The food stops were fantastic. Without the tour, we would never have discovered these places or had the chance to try these dishes. The Taiwanese Meatballs in Southern Sauce and the Scallion Pancake with Egg and Basil were delicious, and we absolutely loved the authentic Taiwanese bubble tea. After the tour, Skyler even followed up with an email summarizing our experience and sharing additional recommendations, which we really appreciated. One thing we wish could be improved is having direct communication with the tour guide instead of going through Viator. Our flight was delayed by three hours, so we arrived at the meeting point five minutes late. By then, Skyler and the group had already left, though they were probably not too far away. We believe we could have caught up much more easily if we had direct contact with her. Unfortunately, communication through Viator was not very efficient, and we were unable to join the group until 1 hour and 15 minutes later, which meant we missed the first two food stops. We hope Viator can improve this process in the future.

This was definitely a foodie tour with a taste of a lot of the local favorites. It exceeded our expectations on many fronts including variety, portions and local favorites. Julie was truly an exceptional guide who enjoyed introducing us to the various dishes, as well as explaining the relevance of each one. She was prepared and timed our arrivals perfectly. The time went so fast, no one walked away hungry & we felt we learned a lot about the culture as it related to the foods. We highly recommend this tour.
