Had a great day! Hemi was a fabulous and informative guide. The autumn colours on the way were the best we’ve seen on this trip. The tour provided a good blend of history, culture and experience. This was our second tour with Snow Monkey Resorts and both have been fabulous!

A lovely town steeped in history and well away from the usual crowds. With our brilliant guide Hemi we enjoyed a great variety of activities on offer. From the stunning views and history of the restored castle to making our own fake food. We enjoyed the audience participation at the demonstration of the dances for the summer festival as well as exploring the well laid out museum. Hemi was great at filling in the information gaps. We were able to flex our visit and take our time as there were just the 2 of us. So our tour included a visit to a Shinto shrine, utter tranquility and cool shade the moment you entered. Making fake food souvenir. Lunch at a local Ramenya.... delicious. A quick stop at a local artisan that does indigo dying & just enough time to look at the spring source and massive carp in the nearby runnels that provide a constant background of running water throughout the town. All in all a magical and very personal experience. Everything - guide, transport in a comfortable mini coach, entry tickets and the food making experience are included. Just lunch and a few unique souvenirs to pay for......bonus was the free persimmons on offer on way back to the coach. Would definitely recommend this if you want something less crowded.

Excellent tour. Good pace and variety of activities. We learnt a lot about the region and local traditions. My 7 year old stayed engaged and was able to keep up with the pace and my 15 year old also enjoyed the tour. Hemi thank you for a great tour!

Great day out in Takayama. We enjoyed the castle on the hill and the city was very unique experience of Japanese life. We made some plastic food and took it home with us ( fun fact that’s where they invited the (in)famous plastic food you see everywhere. Make sure you see the Koi fish ! We had a 7 year old and teen with us - both enjoyed their day out.

The food was top everything went with Visa to pay, the castle was OK, the ice cream was so organic that even lemon fibers were still in it, but the horniest were definitely the huge fish everywhere, some three carp wide:)
