Tanah Lot
Tanah Lot is one of the important directional temples in Bali. The temple is located on a rock just offshore. It is said to be the work of revered 15th century Hindu priest Nirartha and forms an important element of Balinese spiritualism and mythology.
Pura Batu Bolong
The rock underneath the temple has a natural hole, hence the name (batu bolong literally means 'rock with hole').

Murdock was fun and engaging. He readily shared, cultural and personal family experiences and information, which made it a very memorable trip. Although the drive to get to these experiences where as long, the conversation made the time fly!

Our day started with a 6:00 a.m. pick-up from our hotel in Uluwatu. We were a group of two couples. Murdoch was there to greet us with a huge smile on his face and we knew the energy was going to be good for the rest of the day. His car was large and comfortable for all 4 of us. Our hotel packed us a breakfast and we started off making our way to the Tanah Lot Temple. Stunning! When we arrived at 7:30, we were the only car in the parking lot. We made our way down to the water's edge with the stunning view of the temple. We had our packed breakfast in the beautiful garden over-looking the water and temple and then walked down to the water. Luckily the tide was out and we could walk right up to the temple to have the "Holy Water" experience. From there, we continued to make our way north, stopping for a unique coffee experience. A must try when in Bali, drinking the Luwak coffee. Won't write about it here but look it up! Next stop a visit to the iconic Ulun Danu Beratan Temple (floating temple). Beautiful gardens and stunning scenery. After, off to the Banyumala waterfall for a swim. It is a hike in and out; however, you can catch a ride on the scooter for ~$2 cdn back up the hill. Finally, the highlight of the trip, Jatiluwih Rice terrace for lunch and then a walk around the terraces. It is BREATHTAKING! A perfect way to end the day before our long drive back to Uluwatu. It was a 13 hour day for us but we were all on cloud nine after the trip. We can't say enough great things about Murdoch. He was the perfect guide, giving us time on our own but also providing so much information about Bali as well as the places we were visiting. A day to remember.

I had an amazing day on this tour! My tour guide Bagus was excellent and so professional from pick up at my hotel to drop off taking care of all the admissions to sites and lunch, completely stress free for me. Every site we went to was breathtaking.

My family of four (two children in their 20s) did this tour on our second day in Bali to familiarize ourselves with the island. It was an action packed, informative and beautiful way to do so. Murdock our guide was absolutely charming from the moment we met him in our hotel lobby. He shared so much about his culture, his lovely family, his community and the places we visited. We truly feel that we have such a deep appreciation for the land. The trip is a long trip, almost 13 hours by the time we got back to the hotel. The traffic in Bali is a real thing but honestly we would not have changed a thing. The traffic gave us so much to talk about and Murdock used the time to answer every question we had. The trip itself took us from Nusa Dua the resort area to the north part of Bali. Along the way we stopped at gorgeous temples, coffee farm, UNESCO rice farms, lake look outs, and swam in an amazing waterfall. The amount of information you will learn cannot be beat. We all feel that there is no better way to get a sense of where you are visiting. Murdock is a fantastic guide and we would recommend him for your family to acclimate - not to mention he is a great photographer!

We had a great experience and enjoyed North Bali exploring twin waterfall and lakes. We also enjoyed herbal tea and coffee in coffee plantation. Thanks Dewa to guide us through the whole trip. Very recommended this tour.

We had a stunning day learning about the rich history of north Bali. Bagus was an excellent guide and driver, very willing to answer questions and help us sharpen our Balinese 😁 Was also lovely to finish the trip with a swim under a waterfall. Cheers!

Putu Carmawan, tour organiser, showed us cultural sights in Balii and he was excellent, both in his range of knowledge about less visited areas as well as when and how to go in order to minimise traffic. Putu organised cooking classes for us, which were great value and a lot of fun, plus tours north and to Ubud. The car was great, Putu and his team, Adi and Komen speak excellent English and they will devote as much time as their customers need, without extra charges.
