5.00We regularly take food tours when we travel as they tend of offer the right amount of history (for us) with culture and food - this tour hit the nail on the head! The food was well spaced out, with some walking in between. The tour started in one part of the city, and ended in another part, taking in all the sights. The food stops were also a great variety from delicious chocolate shop to a restaurants, with some standing and some sitting. Manuela was our guide and she was amazing. She answered all our questions, and showed us pictures on a tablet for places where we stood to enhance the visuals and understanding of the stories. She was very friendly and seemed to genuinely enjoy sharing her city with us, which helped us to enjoy it more. Manuela also recommended other places we could visit in Bucharest. All round a GREAT tour. Thanks!

5.00We have done food tours in other cities and Manuela’s tour of Bucharest food and culture ranks right at the top. The tour was an excellent value, lasting over four hours and consisting of a gut-busting assortment of pastry, a stuffed pretzel, chocolates, a full lunch/dinner and dessert plus a special coffee drink, beer, water and tea. All of the elements were truly unique to Romania and the region. The dessert was my personal favorite, consisting of a crepe-like pastry stuffed with sour cherry filling. Compared to food in the U.S., Romanian fare is much less salty and sweet, allowing the natural flavors to shine. The tour lead us through the city, stopping along the way at key cultural and historical sites with a thorough explanation of their significance. Manuela generously answered our questions about life in Bucharest as well as the history of Romania. All in all, we highly recommend this tour. It made for an informative, filling afternoon.

5.00We took a private tour with Manuela on May 12, 2025. She was waiting for us at our apartment doorway located in the old town of Bucharest. We walked through the many interesting streets of old town and Manuela pointed out different historical sights and buildings sharing insights along the way. Then we went to a lovely restaurant for a traditional Romanian dinner. I wished that I had written down all the different dishes we tried, but unfortunately, I did not. All I can tell you is that the food we were served was absolutely delicious and the portions were very large. Manuela would describe each dish to us from the menu, and then she allowed us to pick and choose, but she would offer recommendations if we asked her to. I felt like we were visiting an old friend who lived in Bucharest and she wanted to show us how special it was. All we had to do was sit back and enjoy the lovely evening and cultural food experience. It was an amazing dinner and my husband and I really enjoyed it. The food, company and lovely restaurant could not have been any better!!! We then went to a special wine tasting Manuela had arranged for us, also in Old Town. It was a cozy, charming and intimate place. The gentlemen who conducted the wine tasting was very kind and patient with us, describing each wine and the region it came from. The tasting was such a delightful experience that showcased the many different varieties of wine produced only in Romania. Along with the splendid wines we also had a delicious and well- presented charcuterie board filled with different meats and cheeses that would enhance the flavor of the wines. It was a perfect ending to a lovely dinner out with a special guide who treated us like we were her best friends. I highly recommend this food and wine tour. We loved everything about it - most especially Manuela. She is friendly, kind, knowledgeable and a delight to be around. We would definitely give this tour 5 stars because of the lovely experience we had with Manuela. Thank you for making this such a special evening for us.
