In the 5th century, a king’s falcon chased a pheasant into a hot spring and Tbilisi was born. This self-guided audio tour takes you to that exact spot and 14 more stops across Tbilisi’s Old Town, from ancient sulfur baths and 1,500-year-old churches to a glass bridge that blinks the periodic table in Morse code at night.
Walk from the old to the new, from Rose Revolution Square down grand Rustaveli Avenue, past the church where legend says a woman gave birth to a stone, through the cafe-lined lanes where Dumas nearly abandoned his travels to keep feasting. Climb to Narikala Fortress for a panoramic view, and end at the Mother Georgia statue with her bowl of wine and sword — a city’s character in one image.
Unlike a group tour, you control the pace. Linger at the clock tower to catch the hourly angel, duck into a sulfur bath for a soak, or pause for a glass of Saperavi. The audio brings each stop alive with stories no guidebook covers. Available in 9 languages with offline access.

Rose Revolution Square
Start your journey in a plaza has been renamed five times — each time by a different regime.
Rustaveli Avenue
Tbilisi’s grandest boulevard was once nicknamed the “Paris of the Caucasus.” The canary-yellow Opera House was designed by an Italian architect who blended Baroque with Islamic arches — and the Parliament still bears bullet scars from a civil war.

This trip is absolutely perfect for a self paced, leisure tour around the city. It takes close to 2 hours walking....rather strolling as you would be listening to the audio and looking around and walking. The app is quite cool and you can acces the tour offline too. However, I found that being online is better to always have a check on where we are on the route map. The audio guide was very good and the information provided for each of the site was very intresting. The last 2 stops (Narikala fortress and the statue of the Mother of Georgia) are optional as the way to reach them is quite difficult (uphill). Though I tried to get there, I could not succeed as some construction work was going on mid way and the alterrnate route was also closed as it was already past 6:00 in the evening.
