Akhtala Monastery
Akhtala Monastery is a 10th-century Armenian fortress-monastery located in northern Armenia. Famous for its stunning Byzantine-style frescoes, it sits on a rocky hilltop surrounded by deep gorges. The complex reflects a blend of Armenian, Georgian, and Greek influences and once served both religious and military purposes.
