Metekhi Cathedral
Virgin Mary Metekhi church is located on the left bank of the river Mtkvari, on the cliff plateau. The first church on this place was probably built by Vakhtang Gorgasali, symbolically resembling the church built on virgin Mary’s tomb in Gethsemane garden in Jerusalem. According to the legend, the former catholicos Kirion transferred the saint Shushanik to this church in the 7th century.

5.00Our tour guide, Gio, was incredibly dedicated to showing us every detail of his beloved city. This tour is a veritable time travel through the very complex and very telling history of Tbilisi and by extension Georgia. We found the pacing to be just right, stops are evenly spaced out and there’s lots of both quirky and awe-inspiring photo opps. Highly recommended.

5.00I did the Tbilisi Walking Tour Including Cable Car and Traditional Bakery. This tour operates rain or shine — you cannot control the weather. Unfortunately, on the day I was due to do the tour, the heavens opened, but we still had a lovely time and covered all the stops on the itinerary, including the cable car. After making my booking with Viator, I was immediately contacted by the tour operator to confirm my booking. The itinerary was exactly as advertised and covered a lot. Wear good footwear and be prepared to walk. Dress appropriately. The guide was very good, and I learnt a lot. Everything was communicated well, including the meeting location, times, and the itinerary. The tour was not rushed, and you had enough time at each location. Would highly recommend.

5.00We had a great tour today with Nika .We walked the city and saw all the highlights in a few hours . Nika was retreat guide , friendly, patient, explaining briefly all the sites and gave us our alone time to explore the places and take some 📸.

5.00Our guide was Ilia, he was very nice. We paid about 18€ for 4 hours tour, cable car and smaller lunch(snack) was included. Totally worth the time and money. We saw most of the popular parts of the city center and surrououdings areas. Thank you once again iLia😇

4.00generally, it was a great experience and ilia really took his time explaining to us. but i would have preferred if we stopped at the place we started from (Metro station). instead we stopped at the waterfall area.
